| UPDATE 7/13/09 - Benny, part Chihuahua/larger sized.
Benny is doing great, he gets along so well with my rat terrier, Gustav. He is getting used to the street, loving with people. He does still have hesitation around meals, so I feed him in his crate and he does sometimes snap if he is caught of guard. all and all he is adjusting really well, he is the best! 6/13/09 - Benny has been adopted! 5/18/09 - Firstly, he is doing wonderfully. He goes to the small doggie daycare every day and plays nicely with all the dogs. He has been great in the house and sleeps silently in his crate every night. He is sweet and loving with most people although not completely trusting of men. He will make a wonderful pet for a family. Cute, cute, cute! 2/19/09 - Benney has been fixed for awhile now and I really think he has calmed some. He still loves a lot of attention from both of us and will win out the other dogs to get it. He has done a good job at settling in with the routine. He does great in his kennel while we are both at work. We are surprised at how long he has been here. He is good dog and has an adorable face. He is glad the weather is starting to warm up as we all are. The only thing we run into is he reacts when people are coming into the house by barking loudly. I usually tell him its okay or no. I often pick him up and he instantly calms down as soon as he has the reassurance it is okay. I still believe that he would like a home where someone can be with him a lot and not a lot of constant activity. 1/2/09 - Benney has been here for a little while and has settled in well. He has become calmer and a lot more use to us. He has had almost no accidents in the house. I think he has gotten used to the zero degree temps almost everyday. He goes into his kennel better than any other dog I have ever had and has had no accidents in there at all. We had a very hard time getting pictures of him. He really did not want to be on camera. Benney still needs to fixed and I have not made the appointment yet but will very soon. Right now he is playing with a squeeky toy trying to get my to throw it for him. He plays good by himself but also enjoys the other dogs too. I still think that Benny would really prefer a house that is calm with not a lot of little kids. He would love to be someone's best friend that he could hang out with all day. 12/10/08 - Benney is doing well. It has taken a little time for him to settle in. He really favored my husband at first. At thanksgiving it was obvious that he likes males more. He has gotten used to me and seems to like me just as much now. He never acted like he did not like me he just would just be so excited over him all the time. He still gets very excited to see us if he has not for awhile. He will be all over us. He is a little big for a chihuahua but the paperwork says he is. He is very cute and has sweet eyes. I think that he would really love a home that is quiet with someone that is home alot. Benney seems to really like his kennel. He goes in there without being asked. He likes to cuddle and keep warm in a blanket. He has gotten along with the other dogs very well. He lays with them but prefers to play with toys by himself. 11/22/08 - Benney has arrived from a shelter we work with. He is a larger sized short haired chihuahua. Updates & pictures soon from his foster home! |
