1/12/13 - Unfortunately Mylee has returned to rescue today to find a different type of home. She and Duke were too protective of their new family and home to handle the fact that they have lots of people coming and going un-announced all of the time. We also decided they would be better adopted out separately this time as it seems like they feed off each other during heightened times. More updates as they settle back into their foster homes. 11/29/13 - Mylee has been adopted. 11/18/13 - Mylee is a sweetheart! She is well mannered and a cuddle bug with lots of kisses to share. We had a short ride home and she did great in the car. We went for a short walk when we got home and she was wonderful on the leash. I let her sniff around the house (no accidents) and gave her some dinner which she ate immediately and looked for more. The introductions to my four dogs went well for the most part. I did it one by one and Mylee was still a little overwhelmed. My temporary boarder, Zeus, was all about her and she did not appreciate it at all. So, she spent the evening on the couch beside me and I kept reminding Zeus to go away. Today, however, all is well and everyone seems to be comfortable with each other. I'm sure Zeus and Mylee will be playing together before days end! Mylee spent the night in her crate and was quiet until I let her out this morning. I really don't think she needs to be crated. When in her crate and I come into the room she lays down and cowers like it has not been a pleasant experience in the past. Although as I write this she is laying in her crate…..comfy bed in there. lol She does seem a little lost, not knowing what's going on with her long trip yesterday and her separation from Duke….a little unsure at times. She has, however, been extremely entertained by my cats! When they dart around she seems to think they want to play. When she realizes this is not the case she walks away. She also is very curious about the cocktail in my living room, again she is interested in playing with him when he's fluttering in his cage. Mylee is delightful and would be wonderful holiday addition to a forever home! |
