Now that this little girl has had the opportunity to settle in, I am even more impressed than when she first arrived in rescue. This week we meet a young family going for a walk with a 7 month old child in a stroller and a 3 yr old walking with the parents.....yup, she did great with her meet and greet....she is just a sweet lovable girl who wants a family with other dogs, kids and has a lot of love to share.  She is a very gentle girl with the kids we have meet, she will even give gentle kisses without over powering them.  Although still on the shy side, she is a very loving girl.

What an absolute doll this little girl is....I honestly wonder if I have 4 dogs in the house instead of 3.
We have found out that this girl is vocal.  Not a barker, but she talks, a lot.  She talks to her toys, at present she has taken a real liking to a small stuffed squirrel, and she carry's it everywhere, she sleeps with it, washes it, cuddles with it, and believe it or not, she talks to it.  She will whine, growl, even howl a little bit with this toy.  She has no issues with the other dogs with it either, however she won't let them have it, she will poke them with it, she'll even snuggle with them while she holds it in her mouth.....she is just such a sweet, sweet girl.  There is also no point in time that she doesn't seek out their company, she is much happier with at least one of them around.  She does get somewhat anxious by herself, this may improve, but she has demonstrated the preference in being with the other dogs rather than alone. Feleen has also graduated to not being crated while I'm gone, but is gated to the kitchen and sun room with my deaf boy (her favorite companion), and when I return absolutely nothing is out of place.   Whoever makes this girl a part of their family is really getting a treasure.

Now that Feleen has had the opportunity to relax into our routine her personality is shining thru.  Today she actually instigated play with my bossy Boston Terrier, and she really enjoyed it.  Feleen did have puppies 7 weeks ago, and she has been spayed this week, it was at that time that we found out she had a low grade 2 heart murmur that caused absolutely no problem with her spay.  Personnel at the vet hospital loved her, she is very gentle, very loving but is definitely on the shy side. Yesterday we had some unannounced company and she was very gracious in her greetings.  Her little nubbin was wiggling and she was curious and just asked politely for a little attention.  Some family is going to get a really awesome family member when they adopt little Miss Feleen.

It's only been a few days since this little Feleen has come to my home, and everyday she gets a little bit more curious about her surroundings.  She is very shy, timid at first, seeing something new, meeting someone new, but once she relaxes she is very sweet.  It did take a few days for her to relax and mix in with my own 3 dogs, but she did so without a single growl.
Because she is so timid, I wouldn't just through her into a pack of dogs and expect instant companionship, she does need a little time to relax and she so far has shown no aggression what so ever to anyone or to the dogs.  She sleeps in the crate in my room at night and does go in the crate downstairs when I go to work, and although she needs a slight push into the crate sometimes, she likes her treats and is quiet while in her crate.
So keep tuned in to see how this little girl settles in.
