03/05/14 - Christy has been adopted. 02/16/14 - Christy is a sweet, happy natured little girl. Loves to cuddle, loves to play. She does get excited at the prospect of going out, jumping and barking, but we are working on that. She is a bit anxious still in the car, but settles in. Would love to engage in more play with her foster brothers, but they are not quite as peppy. She persuades our Jack Russell to forget his advancing age once in awhile, and they are a hoot to watch. House-training is very consistent, as long as she is out on a regular basis. She has quickly stolen our hearts, and it will be the same, I know, in her new home. 02/10/14 - Christy continues to be a delightful houseguest; intelligent and loving. Her confidence is growing, as is her mischievous nature. I would definitely recommend her owner continue to crate her during any absences, as she is still very much a pup. House-training is consistent, as long as she is taken out on a regular basis. She loves going for walks, and is acclimating to the noise of cars streaming by. All in all she is truly a happy, willing young girl, who will grow into a delightful family member. 02/5/14 - A quick update; Christy is showing more of her personality as the days fly by. She is basically a fun loving girl, willing to play (I will try to get a video of her 'pouncing' on her toys,) but does have a more timid side as well. She is a bit head shy, artfully dodging an outstretched hand, or an enticement to go outside, or to her crate. She is, however, more than willing to please and trust. And that happy nature generally overrides whatever past experiences cause her initial knee jerk reaction. Still a work in progress, I feel she will be a most welcome addition to the right home. 02/04/14 - Christy is such a little sweetheart! She is playful, yet docile, quite mellow (so far!) for a young dog, and even when she is unsure of herself in a new situation, she is reassured by the confidence of her human. Initially hesitant about entering her crate, she settles in right away without a peep. She is learning to walk on leash, and today we are off to Petco to meet other dogs and their people. Interested, but not in your face with the cats, deferential to the dogs, loves to either play or cuddle; I hope this honeymoon never ends 02/02/14 - Introducing Christy, my new foster girl! She arrived last night, a bit nervous, but ate a light supper, did her business outside, and slept through the night in her crate. She is curious, affectionate, respectful of the cats, and even asked to go out to potty this morning. I will send more information and some pictures as we learn about each other in the days to come. |
