07/27/13 - Guess what? I am such a sweet girl that my foster sister has started to like me. I just love everybody. My foster mom says I am just a perfect girl. I wiggle my boxer butt and that makes her laugh. I love to ride in the car and I can get into mom's SUV with no problem. I am 11 years old but I am really pretty spry. I go up and down stairs really well too. I really miss my brother Jake. I hope that whoever gives him a forever home will take me too. But if not, I snuggle in really well on my mattress in foster mom's bedroom. Her bed is too high for me to jump up on so I just sleep on my bed. Foster mom has a great fenced in yard so in this beautiful weather I wander around the yard and meet neighbor dogs. They're all nice and friendly. But I really like the kiddy pool set up for me on the deck. The water is not deep but I love to stand in it As much as I like being here with foster mom and sister, I am so ready to go to to my forever home. I can give you so much love and sweetness. What are you waiting for? 07/22/13 - Hi, I'm Allie! I am as sweet as I am beautiful. My foster mom keeps telling me how sweet I am. I went to the vet this week and got all caught up on my shots. I had a couple of days of having to deal with some pain from my Lyme disease, but foster mom took me to the vet and now I'm feeling really better. I love to talk to people who pay any attention to me. My foster mom and I have some lengthy talks at times, usually when she's giving me treats when I come back into the house from the yard. Yesterday I met one of the neighbor dogs. She's my newest friend. Everybody loves me, although it took me a couple of days to discover that I don't have to be afraid of my foster mom's friends. I am ready to go to my forever home now. I will love you unconditionally if you just give me a chance. 07/16/13 - Poor Allie came back into rescue in really bad shape. She had a bite inside her right ear that was dripping pus. The vet had to muzzle her to even attempt to look at the ear. She also has a very arthritic right knee from an injury years ago that appears may have never been treated. She tested positive for Lyme disease but vet wanted to wait until she finishes antibiotics for her ear before she can be treated for Lyme. She also has a tumor on the back of her right hind leg that the vet says it does not feel like a fatty tumor. At Allie's advanced age we would not put her under for surgery for the tumor as it is more risky then leaving it. We are going to treat her ear infection and lyme disease and provide pain management for her arthritis. 07/14/13 - Allie arrived around noon today looking quite sad having left her family of 11 years, especially her doggy brother, Jake. I have separated her from her foster sister, Sadie, as Sadie is a bit too anxious to meet her. Allie has had enough stress today and yet she is sweet and loving, giving foster mom lots of kisses. We're going to the vet ASAP to bring her up to date with shots, etc. and for a thorough exam. |
