| 02/10/12 - Torque has been adopted. 02/02/12 - Like most dogs, Torque has personality traits which can be interesting. He is a "petty thief". He has taken individual gloves off the table. He doesn't damage the stuff that he steals, but he likes to take things to possess. He loves "soft" toys. Squeakers are safe with him, and he likes toys that make noise. There is a nearly worn out duck that used to quack, but it is making odd noises now. He loves it! He will check out stuff on the counter, but I'm not in the habit of leaving food out, so all he got was a paper towel and it just wound up on the floor. He has not been crated at all for several days and is loose with my dogs when I leave. He would really like to have a couch or chair of his own, but would be willing to share with you. He has eyes that are very expressive with deep pools that take in everything, including the heart of the observer. 01/21/12 - Torque is a great watch-dog! It doesn't matter if it is the squirrel under the bird feeder, the man plowing the yard, someone walking by, the school bus going by or the reflection of the dog in the window. He alerts! He has a wonderful and very distinctive loud bark. He most definately believes that he is a lap dog and tries to push the others away. I can't allow that because I have one that will chastise him if he is too possessive of me! Enter the 'spray bottle' and he backs off. However, it doesn't have any effect on the barking. He gives his paw, downs and is good on leash. He has been sleeping upstairs with my dogs at night and is well behaved. He is also a mooch, and will try to get anyone to share their food. He has picked out a couple of toys that he likes and also likes the nyla bones. 01/17/12 - Torque had his neuter today and a very light supper. He is still feeling the effects of the drugs, and is pretty low key tonight. He will be leading a "quiet life" for a few days, but is now ready to be adopted. He tested heartworm free. If you notice, Torque has the white on his throat and chest. That is almost all of it, except for the middle two toes of each foot. Those particular toes are also white with a bit on his heels. He has noticed that there are cats in the house, but has not offered to bother them at all. He has full access to the whole house. He is a quick learner and has the dog door down pat and knows that he can come and go as he wishes. He is a very sweet and lovable guy and the whole vet office thought he was a sweetheart. 01/15/12 - Torque arrived yesterday and he is a gentle giant, as well as ready to play in an instant. He will be neutered on Tuesday and have a minor growth removed and then should be ready for a new home. We are taking intros to the other dogs slowly. More as we get to know this very handsome dude. |
