| 02/19/12 - Wade has been adopted. 02/13/12 - Wade has been very good since he has arrived in my care. I have also had Wade around my three other dogs 2 chiahuhaus and 1 sheltie, he does very good with them. They dont bother him and he doesnt bother them they get along just fine. Wade did find my cats though and that was an experience, Wade and cats are not good together. But other than that he has been a really good dog and really cuddley. 01/17/12 - Wade is a handsome boy. He loves to cuddle, hug, and kiss you. He literally will put both paws on your shoulders, stand on his hind legs, and give you kisses. If your in need of an alarm clock Wade will come up to you at 7 each morning and kiss you till your up. This is his way of telling you he needs to go out in the morning. He loves to play with squeaky toys but he is quick to get the squeaker out. There is one brand of squeak toy that he has yet to undo, which is made by Kong. He is very athletic and lucky enough to run in an enclosed baseball field a few times a week. Wade also enjoys going for walks. We take a 3 mile walk daily. He does really well on a gentle leader, and currently, due to the cold weather, wears a sweater. He loves his sweater and began walking around the house with it in his mouth. Its a very cute sight. Wade loves riding in the car and jumps on his hind legs in complete excitement when he knows he'll be going for a ride. Wade is a family dog, likes sleeping and playing with children. He does need to be with older children though. Wade can be protective of them. He has been trained to "leave" with some family members when they are playing with the children. The trainer described the reaction as if Wade were "protecting a precious bone". To him the smaller the person the more protection they need. Wade also needs to be an only dog. Although he gets along well with other dogs it seems he doesn't want to share the love and attention with anyone. He is a good boy with a lot to give to the right home. 01/14/12 - Sadly Wade is looking for another home as he just was not doing well in his adoptive home. He is a more anxious kind of a dog and when he and his brother McCoy would get upset about something(ex: knock on door) he would start fights with McCoy that were escalating. He was also protective of the children in his home and would make it hard for the visiting family to come over (he would bark and not want them to hold the kids). Wade never did anything bad and adores the kids, he just this was making life too difficult for his family as family comes over several days a week. Though Wade can be around other dogs he is not going to be able to live with one and is not going to be the dog park/doggie daycare kind of dog. Wade loves the 4 and 6 year old children in his home and likes to sleep with them. He would love to be your new buddy, don’t miss out! P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY WADE! 01/14/12 - Wade has returned to rescue 11/23/11 - Wade has been with us a month. He is adjusting pretty well. He has had his visit with the vet and has been completely updated on all his shots. He was a bit afraid at the vets, but did a wonderful job. Wade has also worked with the trainer on a few issues we have encountered. It has been a week since the trainer has come out and Wade has already shown improvement. Wade continues to do a wonderful job with the Gentle Leader. We have found a wonderful enclosed field that he loves to run in. He gets so excited that he shakes when we arrive at the field. I have finally found a squeak toy that will withstand the test of play between Wade and McCoy. They are made by Kong, they are a soft squeak toy with reinforcement. The two love to play with them. 10/23/11 - Wade is adjusting nicely with the family. He loves sleeping with our daughter. He is very puppy like and loves to play with squeak toys. Wade has already made short work of several toys and has gotten the squeaker out. He is a good boy and will drop the squeak so that I can take it away. He is adjusting well to the Gentle Leader and has taken walks to the center of town. He doesn't pull once it is on. However, it does take some coaxing to get it on. Wade also enjoys a car ride. He and his brother have been to dance, soccer, and even Tae Kwon Do with the family. They have met many family members and are very happy to be around them. Wade and his brother have been allowed the full house, and except for getting a coffee cake (I forgot it was on the counter) have been well behaved. 10/14/11 - Wade has been adopted! 10/14/11 - I met their new family at the Maine border today after picking Wade up in Portland. The two boys seemed very happy to be reunited and McCoy knew Wade was in the car that was meeting us! He was all about getting back with his brother. Two very happy dogs! 09/25/11 - Wade is a great dog! He is always so excited when someone comes home and LOVES playing outside. He can be let off his leash and will stay in the yard with everyone (he is so much fun). Wade is very alert to his surroundings and he will bark and try to see what is going on when there is someone coming he doesn't know or when someone knocks on the door. He is so cute, everytime someone goes to the door he gets right up to see whats going on. I think he's a very social guy because he loves to play so much and wonders where we go when we leave. As much as he wishes we would stay and play all day he doesn't touch a thing...he just waits for us to come home. he is a very good boy!! 09/19/11 - So these past few days with Wade has been great. He is an amazing dog! He loves going for car rides, and running around outside when everyone is outside. He also likes to lay on the couch and watch tv with everyone. And no matter where he goes he always has his toy in his mouth. 09/17/11 - Wade arrived into foster care. An update will come in a few days when we get to know him better. |
