01/05/12 - Hi, Chewy here...foster mom has been a little busy so I thought I'd help out with my update.  I am awesome!!!!!  I am getting better with my manners, you know I like to be playful at the wrong times sometimes, but not all the time.  I am learning my name still, not sure what it used to be but I kinda like my new one.  I absolutely love playtime here, I get two different playtimes.  First is with  that crazy black lab girl and second is with these tiny 6 lb wannabe dogs, they are soooo funny...I play bow and they drop and roll over, oh how funny is that!  I know I have to be careful with them cause they are so tiny but I just love playing with them, foster mom says I wear them out so they will sleep during the day for her...so I guess I am a good babysitter too!  Not sure where I came from but I have to learn not to drink from the porceline spring.  Foster mom tries to keep the cover shut but there are other people here who sometimes forget.  I don't particularly care for the crate but will go in with a little push or a treat and am usually quiet unless the others start barking then I have to put in my two cents.  Foster mom says the new year will bring great things for me and although I like it here and feel safe I am waiting for those great things to happen, could it be you?  Waiting patiently, Chewy!

Chewy has been here about a week and is learning that there is a routine we follow.  Chewy is a very rambunctious pup that does not know the difference between human play and doggy play.  When on leash he is a charm, but when loose in the yard, his manners need some work.  He needs a strong alpha to show him who is boss!  He has not yet worked off his play mode with the other dogs so everyone takes turns being separated from each other for some down time.  I just love his energy and playfulness when he is playing with the other dogs.  I'm still not sure about cats but we have 5 lb pups here that he just loves, well through the pen as he is too energenic for them.  So if your looking for a walking or running partner I think Chewy would do great as he loves to walk!  He may be a work in progress but he is definitely a gem worth the time

I got Chewbacca (aka Chewy) from the transport in Batavia, NY.  Chewy is doing well in the house and loves to run in the backyard.  He does have a tail! He has been introduced to all the dogs, one by one.  He seemed a little saddened that it stopped, the more the merrier!!  He is a very playful and fun loving boxer, although he will need an attitude adjustment with his manners.  I wonder if his manners are why someone decided to tie him to a bench, instead of obedience classes?  I think once he learns his manners he will be awesome, not that he isn't already awesome.  He also likes to "talk" and make noises therefore the name:  Chewbacca!
