| 3/14/10 - Blue is a happy dog. He is very easy to manage, not stubborn at all. When you speak to him, he obeys.
He catches on quickly when we try new things. He still needs work on leash training. He is happy to be on the leash if he is outside with me, but when walking he is still pulling. We have just started to have him sleep in his own bed in the bedroom. He is doing OK with that. We have play dates with the dog next door. There are never any problems. He is a wonderful dog and a great addition to any family. What are you waiting for??????????? 2/25/10 - Blue travelled north to NH last week to get away from the snow! His foster home was busy busy busy and Blue needed some R&R. He has settled in nicely. If you have an empty lap.............have I got a dog for you. He doesn't care where you are, he will get comfy just laying across you. He is crated only when I go out. Otherwise he is right with me and is very obedient. His manners are improving. It's amazing what he understands when there is a dog biscuit in your hand. He loves to play with all of his toys and loves to chase his light-up ball. He is well behaved in the car, and is very happy when we do drive up anywhere, because he is guaranteed a treat from the person at the window. He learns fast! He is a very happy dog with the biggest puppy dog eyes you have ever seen. He needs a new family to snuggle up with and love. Scoop him up fast, he's a keeper! 12/7/09 - Blue has finally let his leg heal up after breaking 3 casts. He has no more casts and no more e-collar to wear. The vet says that Blue's leg healed up a lot better than he thought it would. He couldn't get over just how much the ulna had moved into place. It didn't take long for Blue to start walking and running around on his leg. When his leg starts to bother him, he does hold it up and stops using it. We tried to get Blue neutered. but the vet wanted us to wait until he was fully weight bearing. Now we will be waiting until the beginning of January. Blue is a big cuddle buddy and believes that us humans are his pillows. He doesn't care what position he is in as long as he gets to lay on you. Blue spends a lot of his time playing with the other dogs. Once we took the e-collar off of him, he was like a completely different dog. He can't get enough of playing and does so from morning to night. We are working on Blue's manners as he doesn't have many. His head is as tall as our dinner table, so he use to put his head on the table when there was food on it. We have since been able to stop this behavior. Blue has learned to sit upon command and to stay. He doesn't know much else, but we are working on that too. 9/19/09 - We've had Blue for a week now and he is absolutely wonderful. Blue is a very tall (34 inches) boy for his age and weighs in at 57lbs with the cast. He will be a year old on Halloween. Blue does great with the other 3 dogs in the house. We don't have any cats, so I don't know how he would do with them. Blue also does great with my 3 teenagers. Blue is such a love bug and thinks he is a lap dog. I took Blue to the vet this past Tuesday for what I assumed to be a bandage change. The vet realized that Blue didn't have any x-rays after he was originally casted. He took the x-ray and found that Blue's bones were not even set. He told me I had to come back on Thursday to see if he could rebreak Blue's leg and try to get it more aligned or he would have to have surgery to fix it. I dropped Blue off Thursday and waited for the phone call 2 pick him up. The vet called and I went to get Blue. The vet showed me from a new x-ray how close the bones are now. It was alot better than before, but unfortunately his leg may be a little crooked. We get to go back in a month to see how much his leg has healed. This young boy is waiting for you to put in your application. 9/9/09 - Blue is coming into rescue tomorrow evening due to no fault of his own. Blue was hit by a car on Friday and suffered a broken leg. His owner took him to the emergency vet for treatment and he now has a cast on his leg that needs to be on for 6-8 weeks. He also needs to go to the vet frequently for bandage changes. His owner is unable to afford follow-up care and already is financially strapped due to the ER vet visit. Their work schedule has also changed recently and Blue is left home alone much more often as much as she loves him she wants him to have the vet care he needs and a better life where his people are home more. Blue is a typical happy go lucky boxer boy. He loves children and lives with 3 children (5 years old- 13 years old). Once Blue's leg is healed I have no doubts he will find a home very quickly. Pics to come tomorrow. |
