UPDATE 2/9/10 - Tiki is simply doing fantastic!  We took Tiki to his new home in NJ via 2-hour small plane ride from ME…and he’s gotta be one of the best passengers I’ve ever had, all human species included!  He is such a trooper.
And as soon as we landed, we let him loose at the airport, he darted to the nearest bushes and did his thing, came back to the plane and waited for his next adventure.  I love this Boxer!
So far, we’ve had two accidents in the house, probably due to all the tension and excitement of moving into a new home.  No sweat.  For the most part, Tiki goes to the backyard, runs around for a while, takes care of business, and come right back into the house.  He does love to play with all the new toys and boy does he love to play with me in the snow.  What a blast!
I took Tiki to PetSmart (to buy more dog stuff goodies!) the following day and all the folks at the store couldn’t get enough of him.  They all said he is such a handsome and good boy.  I couldn’t contain myself…I am so proud of him!
More Tiki adventures to follow….

2/5/10 - I was adopted today!

1/30/10
- Tiki has come back to us and it's like he never left.  Things didn't work out with his adoption because Tiki plays harder than the family was comfortable with.  He is very strong and doesn't know his own strength sometimes.  Younger children may be intimidated when he wants to play.  He loves to run the house with Mabel and they roll around wrestling for about an hour and then they crash.  He still knows our routines here and on his first pee, he went to his favorite bush from his first short stay here.
He is just an awesome man and is living large with his 3 girl harem.  The minute he got here, he started kissing all the girls and there was very little butt sniffing.  He especially loves sleeping with his girls in a big dogpile when it's time to go to bed or take a break.  If he was my dog, I would buy a pick up and take Tiki with me everywhere with me, teach him how to chew tobacco and how to use the power window button so he can spit out the window.  I am still trying to talk him out of getting a matching Red Sox tattoo like mine.  I've been trying to tell him he may end up in Yankee country and he will be constantly having to prove defend Red Sox Nation and embarrasing all those Yankee dogs!

UPDATE 12/12/09 - Tiki has adjusted very well. He was overwhelmed when we first got home but after everyone stopping over to see him, he settled right in nicely. Tiki still doesn't like the word no and barks at you when we tell him but he is doing better at not barking when you tell him no now he just likes to grumble. I am so happy we decided on him he truely is a good boy. I tske him for a ride almost everyday. Tiki also loved the snow he couldn't get enough of jumping around in it. I can't wait for obedience school I think this will help him understand us a little better. The first day I took him into Petco and he was awesome he didn't pull or jump on anyone. That was one of my fears taking him in there but he was great. Tiki truely is a good dog and we are very happy with him.

12/5/09 - I was adopted today!

11/26/09 -
Tiki came through his neutering with flying colors, talks with a little higher pitch now, but fine none the less.  Speaking of talking, Tiki is a talker.  He has this soft doggie language that tells you that he wants something, has to go out and, like a typical teenager, lets you know he doesn't like the word "NO".  Not all the time, but when he thinks he's right, he will let you know and has to have the last word!  He is relaxing more and more every day.  I probably wouldn't recommend him with smaller children only because he is always happy to see people and he doesn't know his own strength.  His "butt-wiggle" might knock a smaller child over.
I know I have said this before but if no one realizes just what a prize Tiki is, he is more than welcome to stay here forever!

11/24/98 -
Tiki (BBM) left this morning to be neutered.  All flags in the state are now flying at half mast per his request.  He's going to miss them.  The good news is, he will now be ready to fill the void in someone's life.  Tiki as calmed down since his arrival.  I think he was an only child and is getting used to having other dogs around.  He still gets very excited when someone walks into a room or the house after being gone for any length of time.  He is starving for affection and once he gets it, he plunks his butt down and crawls into your lap and will stay quietly until you get up.  Who could ask for anything more!

11/21/09
- Tiki arrived today in all his glory.  He was a little hesitant coming into the house seeing he was named after a NY Giant and he is now living in Cowboy Country!  He wasn't hesitant very long though because as he was taking a litttle squirt before coming in he saw 3 raving beauties in the picture window gazing at him.  He turned to me as he was walking in the house and said "thank you...I think I've died and gone to Heaven."
It has been a pretty uneventful night as everyone gets to know each other.  Tiki is so tired he can barely keep his eyes open but he can't help himself from flirting with the girls.  He is flexing his muscles and posing for them as if he were a body builder and as you will see once we can take some better photos, he has a Hercules type body.  We will update everyone as we get to know Tiki a little better.
