UPDATE 8/23/10 - Stanley has gained his weight back and is doing great. We tried to get him into the water a couple of weeks a go but he wanted nothing to do with it. Even the crabs didn't seem to get his attention, so maybe in the fall when the beaches open to the dogs he'll be more adventurous. I have started to take him jogging with me which he loves. Every morning he looks forward to going and gets very antsy waiting for me to leash him up.
He is a big ham and goof and still has to understand how big he is. He took me out in the driveway about 4 weeks ago and cracked my ribs...my fault. I should have never started to run with him behind me. He felt really bad and was very understanding of what he did. His favorite pastime is sleeping, and following me around. Oh ya, and eating.
He's very content being around the family.

UPDATE 7/14/10 - Stanley is a great dog and has settled in very well. When he first arrived it took several days before we even heard him bark. And were not talking a puppy yap but a deep woof. Best word to describe him is tolerant. We have had him around other dogs, cats, kids of all sizes [with food] and he does great. He does not beg, table surf, chew, climb on furniture or steal, but man can he poop. We are told he will get easily over 110 lbs which is hard to imagine as he is only around 12 months old and already towers over most dogs he meets. We are trying to put back on the healthy 20lbs he lost somewhere between the original transfer and the foster family.
He is testing his bounds more and more daily and trying to keep this giant puppy in line takes muscle. Everyone is doing there job well, including little Jianna which I think Stanley out weights by 20 lbs. Every now and then he gets a little jumpy, but a good walk and ball toss takes any pent-up energy out of him and he's back down sleeping.
Most days he sits at my feet while I work sleeping.
It's like we have had him forever.
He's happy and we are thrilled to have such a well adjusted and lovable dog.

6/25/10 - Stanley has been adopted!

6/3/10 -
Stanley is continuing to settle in and get the hang of all the routines of the house. He is a great boy and has this face that can get him out of any trouble that he might find his way into. He is looking for a forever home to call his own...

5/31/10 -
Stanley arrived on Saturday morning to us from a shelter in KY and he is doing great. He has a ton of personality. He is super sweet and loves to cuddle, he enjoys walking and running on the leash and is completely housebroken. He has nice manners however he does enjoy an occasional counter surf if something smells good. Get your applications in he will be going fast!
