UPDATE 9/3/10 -
Sasha here; Boy did I have another long ride. I must have gone over 150 miles from Woolwich, Me. to my new forever home.  My new mom and dad had to stop and look in the back of the car to see if I was still with them. I was so good and quiet and slept most of the time.
Somebody told my new mom that I was over nine years  old. I don't feel it.I run and play like a 3 year old.     I made my new dad upset the other day.  I saw some Turkeys out back and I chased them down over the bank. He had to climb down and get me and then climb back up. I forgot he was 80 years old and didn't like to do that too much.  I'll try to be good from now on.
Mom laughs at me when Dad takes me for a walk. I take the leash in my mouth and take myself for a walk and also take him along. They take me for walks with a leash because they don't guite trust me without it yet.
I like my bedsss. They let me sleep anywhere I want.
Couch, spare bed,on the rug and yes and even on the bed between Mom and Dad.

8/27/10 - I was adopted today!

8/22/10 -
What a great dog. She moved in like she has been here forever. She is super well behaved, quiet and very loving. This is the kind of dog I would love to adopt if I was in the market. She will make any family very happy and lucky. You could not ask for a better house guest. Another update after the vet's on Wednesday.

8/6/10 -
Sasha found her voice over the past week and a half.  She and Toby were outside and we heard this little bark, at first we thought it was a neighbor's dog, but nope, it was Sasha.  She was just standing in the yard woofing.  When we called her back in she ran like a shot across the yard, up the steps and into the house...pretty spry for a 9 year old!  We have also discovered that Sasha LOVES the car.  She'll hop right in and sit looking out the window or when she gets a little sleepy, she'll lay on the back seat with her head against the door.  She made her first trip to Petco this past week.  She got lots of attention; "what a beautiful girl" "oh, what pretty markings" "isn't she cute, look at her tail!" (it still goes a mile a minute).  Teh sales woman was giving out plenty of treats, so Sasha wanted to follow her through the store.  Sasha is a great girl, her only want is to sit near you and have you scratch her head or under her chin, or her tummy, she really doesn't care as long as you are patting or scratching her. Oh and I should mention, she's a great welcoming commitee at the end of a long work day!

7/24/10 -
Sasha has had a busy week!  Her tail has still not stopped.  Whenever she hears her name or she is given attention, her tail goes a mile a minute!  What a sweet lady.  She gets along great with Toby, our 3 year old boxer boy.  They play together really well.  She will fetch a tennis ball, but doesn't want to give it back, Toby is trying to teach her she needs to drop it if she wants me to throw it again.  A quick study, she'll get it soon.  She loves being outside, even saying "outside" she gets up and runs to the back door.  And if she sees her leashes, she turns into a pretzel with happiness.  Sasha pulls on the leash a little bit when walking, but I think it's because she isn't used to it and is experiencing a lot of things for the first time (new smells, bunnies, squirrels...)  Sasha met her "foster grammie and grampie" this week too.  She took to them both quickly, covering them with kisses.  She was a bit unsure of her "grampie" upon first meeting, but he sat on the back step and let her come to him and she did within minutes.  The young woman who was caring for Sasha before she came into rescue thinks that she may have been hit by a man or a few different men, so she needs a few minutes to make sure any new men are okay.  She follows her foster dad EVERYWHERE and her new favorite spot is on his lap in his chair.  What a love bug.  She is super affectionate and loves being near people who tell her how pretty she is and what a good girl she is.  Sasha is a bit of a begger, again the young woman caring for her said the previous owner gave her lots of people food, so it really isn't her fault, she's only doing what she knows.  She does listen when asked to sit and will slid down to lay on the floor, but keeps a big brown eye out for anything that may fall on the floor.  Sasha is a sweetie pie and would be a wonderful addition to any home.

Sasha arrived yesterday, what a gem!  All wiggles, honestly, her tail only stopped when she was sleeping.  She's a beautiful lady who is a bit camera shy, so picture will be on the way soon!
