UPDATE 9/15/10 - LET'S SEE, AT 11PM ROCKY WILL HAVE BEEN HERE A WEEK.  EXCEPT FOR ONE DAY HE HAS JUMPED ON EVERY ONE OF MY DOGS.
SATURDAY, I WAS BIT ON THE RIGHT THUMB AND LOST 24 HOURS OF WORK, COULDN'T USE MY RIGHT HAND FOR 3-4 DAYS.  IT STILL HURTS IF I BUMP IT.  MONDAY, HE JUMPED ZOE WHILE I WAS RIGHT BESIDE HIM IN THE GARDEN.  HE DID NOT LISTEN TO ME AND ZOE, MY OLD GIRL, GOT HURT.  I RUSHED HER TO THE VET AND BOUGHT HER BACK FROM THE VET FOR $338.10.  SHE'S ON PREDNISONE FOR HER NERVE INJURY TO HER LEFT ARM AND KEFLEX FOR HER LACERATIONS THAT THEY KNOCKED HER OUT TO STITCH AND TAKE X-RAYS.  THE VET SUGGESTED I GET RID OF ROCKY. IT WAS A YOUNG GUY, NOT MY USUAL DR. CLEMENT.   DAVE IS SO UPSET HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.  MY OBEDIENCE CLASS STARTS NEXT WEDNESDAY... I MUST DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH HIM BY THEN.  THAT IS MY DEADLINE.
THIS MORNING, WHILE I WAS PEEING HE JUMPED ON ZOE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT STOP WHEN I YELLED.  I FINALLY KICKED HIM IN THE BUTT AND HE STOPPED.  I DON'T LIKE DOING THAT BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW ELSE TO STOP HIM. MY HAND STILL HURTS AND SINCE I WAS BIT, I HESITATE TO GRAB AGAIN.
I CAN STOP HIM WHEN I SEE HIM ESCALATING, BUT SOMETIMES I HAVE THINGS TO DO AND I LOOSE TRACK OF HIM.  HE PLAYS ROUGH WITH BAILEY AND CAPPY, BUT NO ONE GETS HURT.  THE BASSET CAN'T STAND HIM AND AVOIDS HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE.
BOTH ZOE AND DEOGEE (THE BASSET) GROWL WHEN HE COMES NEAR.
HE SEEMS OK MOST OF THE TIME, AND, THEN SOMETIMES HE JUST FLIPS.
I HATE TO GET RID OF HIM, AS I DON'T THINK HE'S HAD ENOUGH TIME TO FIT IN WITH THE REST OF THE PACK.  HE IS SOO GOOD WITH BAILEY.  I CALL THEM "BARNUM AND BAILEY, THE 2 DOG CIRCUS ACT".  YOU SHOULD SEE THEM RUN IN THE YARD, THEY LOOK LIKE GAZZELL...JUMPING AND CHASING EACH OTHER.  HE SLEEPS WITH ME WITH THE OTHER DOGS, AND NOT ONE PROBLEM.
KEEP US IN YOUR PRAYERS AND I KNOW EVERYTHING WILL TURN OUT RIGHT.

UPDATE 9/9/10 -
WELL, WE MADE IT HOME JUST BEFORE 11 PM, YES IT WAS 6 1/2 HOURS AND ROCKY WAS JUST A GEM.  WE STOPPED ONCE FOR A PEE/POOP STRETCH BREAK.  WHAT A STRONG LITTLE DOGGIE.  HE PULLED ME OVER TO THE FIRST BUSH FOR SUCH A LONG PEE, I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING OUR SCULPTURE DONE.  AFTER A POOP IN 3 STAGES, HE DIDN'T PULL AGAIN.
HE HAD VERY LITTLE TIME TO SNIFF AND BE SNIFFED WHEN WE GOT HOME AS IT WAS SO LATE.  I LET HIM RUN OFF SOME OF HIS ENERGY, THEN FED HIM SOME YOGURT AND KIBBLE, BACK OUT FOR ANOTHER DUMP JOB AND BACK IN FOR A LONG NIGHTS SLEEP...NOT!
HE FOUND A HIDDEN BONE AND PROCEDED TO CHEW WITH THE WOODEN DOOR JAM AS A HOLDER.  WHAT A RACKET!  FINALLY, AT ABOUT 1 AM I HAD HAD ENOUGH.  I CALLED EVERYONE OUT.  THEY ALL WENT OUT HAPPILY... AND WHILE THEY WERE OUT I SNEAKED UPSTAIRS AND HID THE SACRED BONE.  MAY I NOT BURN IN HELL TOO LONG FOR THAT ONE.  AFTER EVERY ONE CAME IN, ROCKY CAME UPSTAIRS WITH ME AND IT WAS SOME TIME AFTER 2 AM HE FINALLY STOPPED LOOKING UNDER THE BED FOR THE SACRED BONE.   BUT BEFORE THAT HE JUMP ON THE BED, LAY DOWN AND SPOON THEN GET UP AND CHECK THE FLOOR. THEN BACK ON THE BED ETC.  FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG... I FINALLY WENT TO SLEEP.
WE WENT TO THE VET THIS MORNING TO BE WEIGHED AND PICK UP DOG FOOD AND START A FILE WITH THE VET.  DID YOU KNOW HE WAS BORN ON MY BIRTHDAY, ONLY IN 2009.  YES, HE IS MY DOG. AND I THINK HE WILL LOVE IT HERE ALL THE DAYS OF HIS LIFE.

9/8/10 - I was adopted today!

8/29/10 - Rocky went visiting today.  He visited a big, hairy German Shepherd at her home and everything went as expected.  They sniffed each other's butt for a while and then it was off to investigate those funny bird noises.  He was a perfect gentleman and showed Grampa that he does "High 5's" for treats.  As we were leaving he got within 10 feet of a semi-pet chipmunk and just stood there and stared.  Didn't bark, growl or even attempt to investigate closer.  They couldn't believe how well behaved Rocky was.  Another gold star for the Rock!

8/24/10 - Rocky has unpacked his bags and is ready to stay but we keep telling him there is another family waiting for him and he was here just for a short while to get take a deep breath and enjoy the moment.  He needs to put the 20 lbs back on that he's lost since December and he's working at that.  The Rock is a slow eater but gets the job done.  No food aggression and doesn't mind the others hovering over him to see if he is going to eat it all.
We have the leash pulling fixed in familiar surroundings.  Around here there is none.  We went to the vet today just to weigh him and he pulled there but I haven't had a dog yet that doesn't pull at the vet with all those scents.
He spent most of today with Julie and after the inital crying for me he was fine and played with the girls and took a long nap with them.  He tanned himself on the deck for a while and I bet it wouldn't take took much persuation to get him in the pool.
The Rock is just a great boy who needs some love and attention.  He already knows the routines around here and follows all commands to the letter.  My favorite is the "High Five" he can give for treats!

8/23/10 - We are still evaluating the "Rock" but so far, he is a gem!  He has a little separation anxiety from me (but then again, most dogs do...lol) and he plays rough and loud but that is it.  Even Mabel knows he is playing because even though he is rough, she keeps trying to engage him and wants more.  She looks like John Belushi in Animal House when he's jumping and turning looking out for trouble.
Since he wants to be with me all the time (probably due to the fact he has spent weeks in a kennel), I took him into the bathroom with me while I took a shower.  Well, within 1 minute he poked his head in and then came right in the shower!  So guess what....the Rock ended up having his first shower and shampoo so now he is one sweet smelling boxer!

8/22/10 - The "Rock" finished his long journey today and has had a nice big supper, has met all the girls and already has full access to the house without a leash. He is just a tall, skinny lug! He obeys commands, is food motivated, has told me he had to go pee, and is all wiggles and his stub just won't stop. This boy is fantastic! Not quite sure why he was labeled as anything but very good boy.

8/13/10 - Poor Rocky is not going to be available for adoption for awhile as he is having a hard time de-stressing after his life being turned upside down.  He was put in a kennel for two weeks by his home after he and one of their children were wrestling on the ground for a toy and unfortunately the child was nipped in the process.  We will need time to further evaluate him and his needs.

8/8/10
- Rocky joined us today after spending 15 days in a kennel. He is a big lug of  boxer baby boy.
Rocky like many a Boxer becomes stressed in a kennel environment. He headed straight for the pool to unwind.
It was very funny watching him, he was trying to swim in the foot of water in the kiddie pool. I would love to see this boy in deep enough water to really go for a swim.
He just has some dinner and is resting in his crate.
More updates as we get to know this handsome boy.

12/12/09
- Rocky has been with us for 3 weeks now and is settling in nicely.  He loves, loves, loves other dogs and children. But he is a handful for little ones.  He would do best with an active family that has another young dog for him to play with.  Rocky has come a long way. He is now completely housebroken and will tell you when he needs to go out. We have been working on basic obedience and he knows sit and shake.  Coming a long  nicely walking with the gentle leader.  He is a big boy and a puller on the leash so to make life easier we got a gentle leader for him.  He is already 82 lbs and not fully grown yet.  He also feels he is a lap dog and tries to sit in your lap and cuddle .  He is extremely cuddly and affectionate with everybody.  We took him to the Christmas parade this past weekend and everyone he met loved him.   This guy will make a great addition to your family, get that application in today
