| UPDATE 5/12/10 - Little miss Peanut is a very sweet girl. We have completed obedience with ease as she is a good learner. She will do just about anything for cheese which has made it very easy. We still have some work to do outdoors with distractions around, but overall she's learning quickly. She has been a great addition to our family and wonderful for our boxer Brody who really needed a playmate. UPDATE 3/14/10 - Our boxer Brody loves little miss Peanut. They sleep and play together all day and night long. Peanut was spayed this week and it has been tough keeping her from playing hard and doing the boxer burn around the house. We start obedience training at the end of the month. We've already started on sit, down, and go lay down -- she's doing great, just needs to get better on the leash. She's very sweet and has been a joy to have around. UPDATE 2/21/10 - Peanut is fitting in nicely and doing well. She loves to play and cuddle with our boxer Brody. She's not a huge fan of her crate, but she's learning quickly to adapt and accept her fate. We've been working on sit, stay, come, and her pulling and she's learning very quickly. She's been a lot of fun and she's a very sweet little girl. 2/14/10 - I was adopted today! 2/10/10 - Can I just tell you how much I love exploring outside? Yes, this is Peanut again. I know I told you that last time, but with the weather being a little warmer, I've gotten to go on some of the best walks and romps in the snow! There is just so much to see and smell and chew on...I think I might even go so far as to say that outside is as good as a wrestling match with my sister. My foster mom says I've gotten a lot more 'cordinated. I can really move up and down the stairs quickly now - which is a good thing cause I can't hold the bathroom thing off as long as the big dogs yet. We are working on this new "stay" thing, which is ok I guess. I will pretty much do anything you ask for a treat - but make it quick, will ya? And after a day of playing and learning all this new stuff, there is nothing like sprawling out in front of a fire. My foster family giggle when they see me laying out - I don't get it, don't most dogs sleep on their backs or with their heads upside down? They seem to think I'm just flexible and really 'comforble with myself. I do like being me, that's for sure. And I know my forever family will really like me too! I can't wait to meet them. Hmmm, talking about all this activity, I think I am starting to feel sleepy. Time to head off to the crate... 1/9/10 - Hi! My name is Peanut. I am growing and thriving with my foster family, but am really looking forward to being with my forever family. So, I thought I would tell you a little about myself in hopes you would pick ME! =) First, I would just like to say that even though I am small, I am no pushover. I love to play and can even keep up with the foster family’s full-grown boxer! They think I am funny sometimes because I can still be a little awkward and all my legs seem to go in different directions at once when I jump around. I have grown enough to be able to go up and down the stairs on my own now, though, and am just about as confident as I am adorable. I also know when I’ve had enough, and will collapse in a heap on the softest bed I can find (after appropriate fluffing, of course!) I also sit patiently while my foster family gets my food ready – as long as they don’t take more than a few minutes to do so. I am curious and more independent by nature, but love a good snuggle after a play session or walk. I have lots of kisses just waiting for you! Please consider making me part of your family. Thank you. (Oh, I almost forgot, I would prefer to go to a person or people who are willing to give me cheese for training treats – I love cheese!) 12/5/09 - Peanut and Brittle are doing amazing. Both puppies are gaining weight, their fur has come back. Both puppies are completely cratetrained and are doing very well with housebreaking. These girls have amazing personalities and just want to please and be loved. They love to be cuddled, play with toys or just run in the yard. They are growing leaps and bounds. The girls go to see Dr. Matt on Monday will have their shots and be ready for their forever homes. Don't let these two sweeties pass you by. If they have half the temperment of their mom they will be the best dogs ever. Let's get them home for Christmas. They are great with all the other dogs, birds and every person they meet. We don't know who Daddy is but some sort of lab or hound probably. Get your apps in quick. 11/30/09 - I stopped by to meet the puppies today and take pictures! They're so cute!! They must be feeling MUCH better because they were all over the place. They couldn't wait to meet me and then followed me everywhere. It was hard to get pictures because they'd come investigate every time I'd aim the camera! Peanut seemed to be the quieter of the two, but Foster Mom says it used to be Brittle, so that could change. All I know is that she's adorable, quiet, and loving. They both look very healthy, which I'm told is a HUGE improvement from last week! I know you're just waiting for a puppy like this one!! 11/23/09 - Peanut is a cute little girl that arrived via private plane with her mom on Saturday. She is very under weight and covered in mange. We will see the dr in the am and hopefully get this sweet girl on the right path to health. |
