UPDATE 3/28/11 - We’ve had Duke with us now just over six months and I’m happy to say he is doing great. He has a solid everyday routine that he has been sticking to. I think that he forgave us for having him neutered but only time will tell. He and his sister are getting along great. They seem to have come to the conclusion that they are together like it or not.  His favorite thing lately is to sit in front of the fireplace and stare into it. With this cold weather, I can understand why. As soon as May comes around, he will get to start going to our camp up in Maine. I’m sure he will be happy to check out and mark some new territory. Anyway, that’s it for now.

UPDATE 12/20/10 - First off, my apologizes for the late update to SCBR.
Duke is doing just fine. He has graduated from training (I think they pushed him through). He has found his spot in our household. He has made good friends with the whole family and especially his sister Daisy. They enjoy ripping it up all over the house. I think Duke feels slighted because he still has a crate to go into every night where Daisy has the run of the house. So far, he has been really good around the holidays with the exception of a few treats off of the counter. I'm sure all will change as his neutering appointment is in January. Hopefully he forgives us.......

UPDATE 10/1/10 - I don't know what can I say about Noah except that he is awesome. We had a eight hour drive home from Hamburg and he was a great passenger. He just either looked out the window or slept. When we got him home he met the whole family and our other dog Daisy. I think Noah was more excited than Daisy but they are slowly getting used to each other. We are trying to get him into a consistent routine of walking but unfortunately the weather here has been kind of crappy since we got him home. However on the walks that we have had, he is amazing. He is better on a leash than his seven year old sister.
His overall health seems ok. His digestive system was in a bit of shock from the travel and stress of relocation, but that seems to have taken care of itself. I have noticed a little cough that he has in the morning. It's nothing big but we are keeping track of it to make sure its not getting worse. We will have him into the vet soon for a wellness visit and to schedule his appointment to get fixed. It's only been a week so he is still checking out his new surroundings. Every day that goes by he seems more comfortable in his new home.
See ya next month!

9/24/10 - Noah has been adopted!

9/9/10
- I'm not even sure what more I can say about sweet Noah. He is such a great puppy. He is super in the crate and is now housebroke. Obviously he is a very smart little guy to be housebroke already! Noah wants nothing more in life than to be loved and learn new things. He catches on to things amazingly fast. Once he knows the rules he is very quick to follow them and do what is asked. For weeks now when it is time for him to go in his crate all I have to do is say "crate"  and point to it and he bounces right in.  Amazing!
Noah is always happy and his tail is always wagging. Luckily he doesn't seem to have the thick whip like boxer tail it is the gentle GSD tail that just seems to sway back and forth. Noah is currently playing with his puppy friends and having a good old time. Noah is surprisingly calm for a pup of his age with feeding time being the rare exception. He jumps around like a goof and barks while we get his bowl ready. When we put his bowl down he runs over to it and we expect him to inhale his food with gusto but he actually eats really slow, wanders away for a bit, goes back for some more. It is quite comical considering he acts like he is famished and wasting away while we are getting his food.
Noah adores everyone he meets, he truly doesn't know a stranger. His only bad habit is he has started jumping up on us but is learning that he doesn't get any attention when he jumps. He is a quick study so I am sure he will get the idea soon. I think part of the jumping is because of the competition of having 3 other foster puppies. Noah wants to make sure we don't forget about him! Noah is such a great little pup he really deserves a family to call his own.

8/23/10 - Hi Everyone, It is me Noah. Time to take matters into my own paws and find myself a forever home. Foster Mom has been BUSY as she got me a boxer puppy (Cisco) and 2 Puggles (Carlos & Santana) - whatever the heck a Puggle is - to play with. I am having SO much fun. My foster mom said I am making her proud by being a good influence on the younger pups. I am helping show them the ropes and I love it!
I'm not really supposed to tell anyone but I think I am everyone's favorite puppy. The neighbor came to play with us the other day and I heard her tell FM that I was just the best. She's already got 2 dogs though so she couldn't take me home. So from what I hear I am a good puppy. I heard FM tell someone I don't get into trouble much and don't chew things (well maybe an occasional flip flop but those are almost impossible to resist). She also said I am quiet in the crate and almost housebroke, only 1 accident in the last 3 days and that accident I am blaming on the puppies coming. I just forgot to ask to go out, geesh new friends to play with I didn't want to miss anything.
I have a lot of fun here and am not hyper. I am trying to teach the Puggles how to chill out and not do ridiculous things but that is not going so well. My foster mom thinks I am the perfect mix of breeds. Well, it is time for bed. Call my FM and she will tell you all about me!

Love,
Noah

8/13/10 - Zorro, Sly and Noah arrived in NY safe and sound on Sunday many thanks to their personal pilot Steve. This is no joke he flew them to NY to their new foster homes! Amazingly the pups didn't have so much as an accident on their flight and were great little travelers.

The pups are a riot. Happy, friendly little boys. They had their 2nd vaccine and deworming on 8/8. Sly is a big boy and weighs 19.6 pounds, Zorro 14.8 pounds and Noah 13.6 pounds. Have no fear what Noah lacks in size he makes up for with spunk. Our volunteer (Thanks Terry!) who took the to the airport for their flight said the biggest pup (Sly) was the calmest, most laid back. I think he was just putting on a show as Zorro is the laid back boy. He moved onto his foster home Monday morning and I was said to see him go. He would go play and when he had enough would just lay down and relax.

Sly and Noah are typical puppies. Play, nap, eat and repeat the cycle. They crate well and settle down after a few minutes of seeing if their foster people will soften and spring them from the crate. As soon as they realize it is not happening they give up the battle. They are an absolute riot and so fun to watch & play with. I was hosing down the patio this morning and Sly & Noah were "helping" me. Needless to say we have 2 wet puppies and it is only 8am! It is already hot and humid here so I am sure the hose water was refreshing

7/16/10 - I wanted to update the NH boys.  They are the greatest little pups. They will melt your heart.  Already no soiling in their crates at night, or during the day.  They have me well trained!  After their nap, they whine and I take them out they do their business.  When they go out they are rough and tumble till they tire out which is about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and they go right to sleep without a peep and sleep soundly till next play date and potty.  They will sleep about 6 hours a night.  Sly is the biggest one of all.  He and Noah stay close to one another. While Zorro (which I call him but i am waiting for someone to give me a new name for him) tends to be the adventurous one.  He is also the more laid back of the three.  Noah likes to really let you know what he wants and is the sounding board for all of them.  They are always wagging their tails which are VERY long.  They are happy, loveing, and healthy.  They love to give kisses and I love getting them and I love their puppy smell.  Some family is going to be very lucky with one of these pups.

7/11/10 - While their brothers and sister stayed in New Jersey, Sly, Noah and another boy puppy finally arrived from down south to us and they are doing WONDERFULLY. Their mom is a full Boxer and their dad is a German Shepherd/Hound Mix.  They are about 6 weeks old and will be ready to go in about another 2 weeks. All of the puppies are super sweet and friendly. More to come as the foster family gets them settled in.
*Note- Because I'm a puppy, I'll need someone who is home most of the time- stay-home, work at home, retired.
