UPDATE 6/8/10 - Hi Guys,
Well we made the trip to NY this weekend and picked Miley up and brought her home.  Introductions with her and Papi went wonderfully...she has the same disposition as him about meeting new dogs, no posturing or who is dominant, etc...they just went into play mode.  Papi has exhausted himself, so we have to give him some mandatory rests and honestly she needs a break from him sometimes too.  She is also doing well with Pepper, our cat, she actually better with her than Papi is, although when Papi starts harassing Pepper, Miley will start in barking and Pepper gets more stressed, so I have to watch that.

She is truly a diamond in the rough.  She has a wonderful, sweet disposition and personality.  However, it's quite apparent that she didn't receive any obedience training from her original owner.  She pulls harder on the leash than any dog I have ever had.  I'm going to look at Petedge for one of those no pull harnesses.  I will also sign her up for the next session of Good Manners class at the obedience school Papi is currently attending...I believe those classes begin the week after next.  She also gave us quite a scare the first night we had her.  My husband was coming in the front door, had it almost closed and she bolted out and ran down the street (and with her gazelle like legs she was FAST).  Teddy ran after her and she got to the end of the road, where it meets a busier street and luckily responded to him calling her and headed back to our house...I had got outside with a treat by that time and she was in my neighbors' yard and came right to me for the treat.  The next morning my son opened the door to leave for school and she bolted out again, this time she only did a lap around the house and came to the treat again.  Needless to say I put a call into the Canine Fence Co. to get her trained on our invisible fence ASAP.  They want her to have lived here for 2 weeks before they start to train.  In the mean time I am taking her out on a flexi-leash, Papi just stays right by our side in the yard...I've never had a female boxer that would bolt like that.  I am also having her sit and wait a minute once I have her leashed up before I let her go out the door for our outings.  In the next couple of days we are scheduled to have a 10 by 24 fenced in area for pottying and once she is trained on the invisible fence she'll have the run of 1/2 acre, I think she'll be happier then.  We also had a time convincing her that she wasn't going to sleep on our bed, that's my cat's safe area, so no dogs allowed.  She finally relented and slept on a nice fluffy dog bed with the blanket that she rode in the car with and last night went right to it with no problem.  I think she learns quickly, which is good.  Any tips on the leash walking would be great though!

Here is a picture of her and Papi last night getting settled in for sleepy time.  Thanks SCBR for her, thanks so much to Laura and Mike for transporting her and to Beth for being her foster mom!!!
