4/26/10 - Maddie still waiting patiently. She says" I love to dance, prance, run, fetch a ball, catch a ball, and generally be anywhere you are! If you are taking a bath I like to lay beside the tub. If you are having dinner I like to sit next to you at the table. Foster mom has been working on getting me to lie down while they eat!
When Mom thinks I need a nap or wants to house clean she will put me in the crate with her dog Cuddles. Then I hear and watch this very loud racket maker pass by,but I know it cannot get me in here, then pretty soon another stick that smells good. After a nap I get to come out and play or lay on the chair or couch. I get a long walk in the evenings which I really look forward to. I still give Lilly the cat a chase whenever I get the chance. She goes off and hides under the bed. I am hoping I get to go home pretty soon but I am having lots of fun here while I wait for my next new mom......

Maddie says "pick me, pick me!!!" She patiently is waiting for her forever home. She is all healed up from having her spay and is ready, willing and able to make some nice parents proud of her. Maddie is very smart and anxious to please. My cat hides on her but Maddie has not tried to hurt Lilly. Her and Cuddles are pretty good friends.
I crate Maddie when I have to leave her, she is a bit of a velcro dog and would be happiest with a stay at home mom I think. She will warm up to men but it takes her awhile she prefers the female species much more but hey, what can I say I told you she was a smart dog! Maddie is a really good girl just begging to have a home of her own.

4/10/10 -
Maddie continues to improve and fits in nicely once we got through the first couple of days of settling in. She now will run into the kennel when I say "Dogs in" for a small piece of bologna or cheese. Loves these for treats. The vet plans to spay her on Tuesday and checked for heartworm which I will find out results of on Tuesday. Maddie's ears were very infected and we are putting a wash in and then an antibiotic cream after. She does not think much of this. She sleeps with me most nights and loves this extra attention. She follows me everywhere I go and we go on daily walks that she really looks forward to.
A male friend has been by for a visit on a couple of occasions and Maddie puts her hackles up even though he speaks in a low friendly voice, talking to her by name and calling her to come but she will not go near him. He is a dog lover and has a couple of his own dogs also, so Maddie may be man shy.
More to come after our next visit to the vet!

4/5/10 -
Maddie is a really sweet dog. She just needs the right family to take time to spend with her. It's only been a few days since she arrived but she is fitting in pretty well. She likes to follow me around the house, and tries not to let me out of her sight. She's getting better with going in the kennel and is making friends with Cuddles. She knows how to sit, give her paw and lay down. She's a smart dog that just needs a little more attention. I let her sleep with me and she took up the whole bed! She is a bit of a bed hog. Will have more after Thursday, when she goes to the vet.
