UPDATE 9/8/10 - LuLu is doing GREAT! She is adjusting well to her new home and has put on a little weight (not much, but a little!). It is hard for her to keep any weight on because she is so active! LuLu runs around the backyard like a track star and loves to play "keep-away" with her favorite stuffed monkey. Her health has improved and she is no longer on any antibiotics. She seems to have some allergies, but the vet said to give her a benadryl on bad days and it should help. LuLu is very affectionate and cuddly and still loves to get up on the couch with us to snuggle before bed time. She has been doing better at going on walks in the neighborhood, but still needs a little work. When she sees squirrels, rabbits, or other dogs she lets her puppy curiousity get the better of her and MUST investigate! This will get better with time. LuLu loves to meet new people and was a big hit at our Labor Day party on September 5th that we held at our house. Every person who came over got a big kiss fr  om our cute girl!
We love our Princess LuLu and receive so much joy from her every day.

UPDATE 8/15/10 - LuLu (aka Pretty Pretty Princess) has adjusted well to her new house. She was very quiet her first day here, but has really come out of her shell in the past 7 days. LuLu saw the Vet on Wednesday and was given some antibiotics, eye cream, and an antihistamine for a cold she has and since she has been taking her medicine she's been feeling a lot better. LuLu loves to cuddle with Sean and wiggles her way to his pillow almost every night. We learned this week that LuLu also REALLY likes treats, as she ate a whole bottle of them while Sean and I were out! Now we know not to keep such yummy things on the kitchen table. LuLu has also started playing with a toy in the yard when she goes outside. She doesn't quite have the concept of "catch" yet, so she tends to throw the stuffed animal to herself by throwing it in the air and then catching it again as it comes down. This is highly amusing to us and appears to be a lot of fun for her!
LuLu will be starting obedience training in September. LuLu has been a wonderful addition to our lives and we could not be happier with her.

8/8/10 - I was adopted today!

7/29/10 -
Hello, my name is LuLu. I'm the Prima Donna that lives with my Foster Family and the "boys".  They are horrible dirty dogs. They insist on playing rough and running around and getting dirty. My favorite thing to do is instigate the boys into a frenzy so that when Penny or Greg comes into the room, I'm sitting on the sofa pretending to snooze and they get punished. I get to sleep on the Big Bed and they don't. I suck up to Greg by laying with my head on his pillow and breathing softly in his ear. I like to snicker at the boys because they have to sleep on the floor. (hehehehe)  Everyone thinks I'm special and beautiful. I hear Penny complain that I'm too thin. I don't need to be fat like the "others". I'm meant to be svelt.
As Prima Donna, I get to go and do important things, like doing home checks for potential forever homes for all the others in my kingdom.  I feel it is important to find the best people.  I'm very picky. The first family I met, the man was so handsome. I liked him right away.  Greg was all jealous and stuff, but (sniff) he'll get over it.  The second family I met had 3 wonderful girls who wanted to play with me, and give me all the attention.  A, R and M thought I was the cat's meow. Their mom and dad were cool too, but I really liked the girls. Whoever gets to go there is going to be the happiest dog in the rescue.
Well, that is all for now. I'm tired and must take my beauty nap. After all, I am the most important being in the house. It takes a lot of energy to run this place.
Yours in Paws
LuLu

LuLu has been with us just over a week now. She is the most LOVING animal I have ever had the honor of having in my home. She loves to be loved. She loves to cuddle with you and nuzzle you. LuLu is slowly gaining weight. It is still heartbreaking so see her ribs sticking out, but we are all very gentle with her.  There is absolutley NO food agression. She respects the other dogs. LuLu is a little pushy with my Bulldog puppy, but it seems more like she is trying to mother him. LuLu is a woman's dog.  LuLu is not mean to, or afraid of Greg, but she is not a man's dog.  She would do better in a home with daughters or a single woman.  LuLu is scheduled to be spayed this week.

7/5/10 -
LuLu arrived on Saturday to very tired Foster Parents.  We drove out to State College, PA to pick her up from her Rescuer and Saviour, Kelly.  Kelly heard about LuLu and worked with the owners to adopt LuLu herself. LuLu did not get along with the resident Boxer in charge, so Kelly reached out to SCBR to help her.  LuLu was living with a single mom of a very young child. There was no money to feed any of them. LuLu has only known confinement and hunger.  Kelly arranged for LuLu to reside in a puppy hotel for a week before she and I could meet up. LuLu is a beautiful girl. She is alarmingly thin. Her ribs are very pronounced.  She has a pretty severe ear mite infestation. They are swollen and sensitive. They remind me of Coops. Everyone remembers Coops ear problems.  LuLu craves human attention and love. We were told she has men issues, but as usual, she took one look at Greg and fell in love.  He can't go to the bathroom withou LuLu going with him.  What is it with this guy?  He seems to attract women of all makes, models and breeds. LuLu also loves my daughter. She sleeps with Mariah every night. She is sweet and loving and a polite little lady.  We are working on the crate (she hates it right now).  She does not chew or destroy things. She is very well behaved overall, but will definatley need obedience training.
