| UPDATE 2/20/10 - Lola is truly touching our hearts in every way! We have taken two trips to the beach and were happy to see that Lola loves the sand as much as we do. She ran circles around us and spun like a top in the sand! We are also happy to report that Lola has put on 2-3# - she is currently being transitioned to a different grade of food. Every morning and evening we walk and work on commands. She is consistently "sit"ting and "stay"ing for longer periods of time. Obedience class begins March 7. She has had a couple of accidents in the house while we are at work. We may confine her to one room with a baby gate or consider a crate if she continues. However, I believe she just needs time to adjust. Overall, Lola is settling very well. She is a little cuddle bug and we're lovin' her right up!!!! 2/13/10 - I was adopted today! 1/31/10 - Lola has arrived. She is truly a tiny, beautiful girl. She is a little underweight but we've upped her food to 3 times a day for the weight she should be. Lola is a petite girl which won't change even when her weight is back to normal. I keep wanting to call her Gidget. She is a snuggler and not shy about putting my Panda in her place. Which is a good thing b/c Panda is a spazzy 10 month old. But Lola also knows I'm the boss and responds well to correction. She is unsure of what's happening, there have been a lot of transitions within the last week. She has bonded to me just as she should. She's snuggled up next to me on the comforter as I type. Her profile says she's "mostly" trained b/c she will stay but only for a very short period of time. I'm sure all her manners will shine through when she's more comfortable. She does sit at the door if I take too long getting their leashes on and she waits for her food until she is told "go". She slept on the dog bed next to my bed last night and didn't come up on the couch until I invited her. I was told she previously wasn't allowed up so I'm sure if you want to revert back to that she will adjust quickly. She has met the cat and made some sniffing noises but shows no aggression. She met my son today and was all wiggles for him. She did live with 3 children under 12 yo. I was told she had allergies when she was younger so we're keeping her on the food that came with her. We're waiting for her vet records to find out if she needs any shots. She is much prettier in person than her picture shows. Check back for more info after we get to know her better. |
