UPDATE 8/27/10 - Daisy is doing just fine.  Did we mention that the vet thinks she's 5?  Hard to believe because she acts like a puppy - so we really believe that she's closer to 3.  We just got back from vacation.  While we were away Daisy and Blaze spent the tme at the Malibu Pet Hotel (they're terrific because the dogs aren't in kennels - but in rooms).  They were amazed at how well she and Blaze were getting along and how protective he was of her.  She has gained another 3 pounds, but even though she still looks a bit lean to us, the vet believes that she is now near her proper weight.

UPDATE 7/23/10 -   Daisy is doing really well.  After a few initial accidents, we now know to get her out wihin an hour of a long drink of water.
She and Hunter (son) have become best friends, they chase each other around the house and in the backyard. He also enjoys taking her for walks around the block.  In fact, every morning she pushes open his door (amazingly at the right time!) to wake him up with kisses.  It is really nice to see them together!
Daisy and Blaze are also doing very nicely together - both sleep aon our bed near our feet, without any problems and never fight about food or "personal" space.
Daisy is a very sweet girl, and her manners are improving easily because she is o happy to please!
Thanks for this great addition to our family!!

UPDATE 6/18/10 - Daisy is continuing to adjust well.  She has put on a bit of weight (1 1/2 lbs) and is just as energetic as usual. She made the slow adjustment to Science Diet without a problem (we slowly waned her off the kibble while increasing her Science Diet).  While Blaze likes to rest after a few minutes of play in the backyard, Daisy just goes on and on.  We should begin obediance lessons later this week or early next week and will send the certificate shortly. She really does pull on the leash and jumps up quite a bit.  But those are all easily corrected with the training.  We have had guests over a few times, and she's wonderful with them.  She and Blaze are getting on very well together - there is still an occasional scuffle over a toy, but more commonly they play with the pull toys.  When they're both tired, they curl up together either on the basement futon (that's the downstairs doggie bed), or on our bed. Her counter top cruising has lessened a bit, and she is safe around fo  od left
on the table - as long as you come right back.  Daisy is really a sweet girl - and she is a wonderful addition to the family!   Thanks Second Chance!!!

UPDATE 5/21/10 - Daisy is doing really well!  We introduced the dogs (Daisy and Blaze - 7 YO) at a dog park - off they ran.  When we brought them back home, Blaze was confused about why Daisy was there.  She's been sleeping in her kennel at night, but we expect to move her out of that one night this weekend.  Interestingly, the only "hiccup" was a slight scuffle over toys - every time Daisy took one from a pile, Blaze would take it away.  She lost her temper after Blaze took away the fourth toy and snapped at him.  Needless to say, Blaze snapped back.  Both were given time outs in their kennels and all toys were taken away for 2 days  They've been excellent since the toys were re-introduced into the environment.  No fights over food (they eat in separate rooms) or water (which they share). Earlier today, I walked into a room and found them lying together on one of the doggie beds (that we have scattered around the various rooms).  They also lay together on the basement futon.  In the yard t  hey
just run, and chase each other - we just step back and let them lose some energy.

Daisy is a lovely little dog - she's tiny for a boxer!  She does need training (which is required anyway), but she is eating well (she hoovers her food!)and she has had no accidents!  No chewing, but she did try to eat the bath soap - so that has been moved to a shelf in the shower. She's a very affectionate dog - we love her, and our sone loves to walk her, because Blaze has always been too powerful for him to walk.

Many thanks to the foster parents - what a great couple! Also many thanks to SCBR for putting us togther with Daisy!.

5/16/10 - Daisy has been adopted!

4/8/10 -
So Daisy has been with us for a week now, and what a week it has been. She has shown herself to be a sweet, fun and energetic little girl. She loves to pay with the other dogs and meet new people provided that they are not coming into the house. She is VERY SWEET young lady who needs some work on her manners as far a jumping up because she is so excited to see everyone. Other then that she is doing great. Get you apps in fast!

4/2/10
- Daisy arrived to us on Thursday, she is a petite girl with a face that can get her out of anything. :). She is sweet and gentle and seems to know how to the boxer kidney bean better then any other boxer I have ever met. and very at looking teeth We are estimating her age to be 2 and 3, she has great looking teeth and still acts like a puppy. She has had at least 1 litter of puppies. More updates to follow as we get to know her better.

And a big thanks from Daisy to the wonderful folks at the Associated Human in Newark for keeping her safe, warm and fed!
