UPDATE 4/20/11 - Sorry, sorry, sorry. This is really late. I've got lots of reasons but I'll leave it at sorry. Cisco is doing great. He finished obedience class and did very well with it. Although he pretty much let things slide over the Winter. Now that we can see the ground again, we're going over all his lessons that he's "forgotten." He's very smart and has lots of energy to use up so we're looking into an agility course for him.
He's eating well and weighs about 55lbs now. It's unusual for us to have a non-allergic Boxer who can eat just about anything but he does. Cisco loves his fruits and veggies. I keep a large vegetable garden so it will be interesting to see what he does. We used to have an American Eskimo that pulled up carrots to eat along with the sugar snap peas.
Cisco loves being outside and he's discovered there are neighbors next door so we're fencing off the access points. We've also put on a small addition to the house that will have a picket fence going around the entire house. That way he and the cats will have free access to the two porches and the patio.
He's a funny dog. He has lots of quirks. He likes to dig. I gave him his first marrow bone and thought it was cute when he buried it. Then things started to go missing.  He likes to bury the things that go missing. So far the list includes car tools, screwdrivers, screws, lug nuts, whisk broom, paintbrush, gardening gloves, trowel, eyeglasses and finally our portable phone. We've found everything except the phone. It rained right after so I'm sure that, and the battery finally did it in. So far he's safe because he's just too sweet and cute.
There is a sad side to Cisco. He can be timid at times and he spookes easily. But what really gets to me is he'll visably cringe when I go to pat his head. Or if you touch him on his backside, he'll startle and his eyes go dead with fear. He snaps right out of it and becomes all wiggles and kisses but I'd still like to smack whoever thought terrorizing a puppy was OK.
Did I say he weighs about 55lbs. And he has legs that go from here to the moon. Cisco isn't a perfect Boxer. His torso's too long and his head is too small but everyone, and I mean everyone thinks he is just the most beautiful boy around. And he is.

UPDATE 11/21/10 - oops! This is a little late. And this update will be a little short. We're all doing fine, especially the short furry guy. He's still working on his housebreaking but is doing so much better. My husband Michael, takes him to All Dogs Gym for obedience training. That's going slow but steady. Cisco likes to play, especially with the other Boxer pup and a nearly full grown Doberman. So he tends to be distracted. I think we'll continue with additional training after this class is finished. Nathan, my youngest is looking into agility training. Cisco is nothing if not agile, ooh yes.  Good news is the cats have come to terms with him. My little GirlyGirl is finally back in the house. She gives him a wide birth and dirty looks. He in turn likes to play chase, which has me constantly saying "Leave the cat alone," which my husband says sounds like an Italian dessert. I'll have an expresso and a slice of catalone. My big cat, Bartok is, well BIG. He's not impressed by much. Especiall  y a bounce off the wall puppy. He head butts Cisco. They've even developed a game. Cisco sees how close he can get to Bartok with his Boxer stomps before Bartok swats his nose. Oh no! Running out of room. Cisco is a love. He's growing quickly, and we've changed his collar twice - he's now in an 18". That's my guy!

UPDATE 10/12/10 -  Cisco is doing great. He's a handsome and sweet boy. He had some problems with his Kennel Cough coming back along with pneumonia. He's almost finished with this round of antibiotics and I believe we're in the clear this time. He's feeling pretty frisky, oh yes. Everyday is a new adventure. He's getting into things, lots of things. We've had him for four weeks and he's just starting to use his squeaky little bark, usually at something he can't reach, or the cats, mostly the cats. We have two. Bartock, the bigger of the two adjusted pretty quickly and doesn't take Cisco too seriously. Besides, a quick swat will usually settle any unwanted attention. Bartok will even head butt Cisco to say hi. Don't ask, it's a cat thing. The real problem is my little girl cat, Girly Girl. The name says it all. She's just refused to come into the house. She sleeps in the outbuildings and eats on the fly, so she's lost a few pounds. But it's getting cold here and coming inside at night doesn't  seem like a bad idea. Besides, she can climb the stairs and he can't.
So, things are starting to settle down. Cisco is doing well with housetraining. He's begun to signal, and we're starting to read his signals. Sooo much better. He loves to eat and has put on a few pounds. Seven. In three weeks. Did I say he loves to eat. He needs to. He's always on the go now that he's feeling better. So much to do, so much to do.
This week he starts Obedience Classes, which is good because I've noticed an occasional stubborn streak.  He's a very smart Boxer and should do well. Unless he just wants to play, which is more likely. So, that's it for now. Everyone is fine here. Cisco has settled in; he's feeling good, he's looking good. Did I say how handsome and sweet he is. Happy, very happy.

UPDATE 9/20/10 - Hi there. Cisco here. Well, has this been an experience. My new mom and dad picked me up on a Sunday morning and boy was that a long ride home. Over 9 hours to my new digs. Part of that was all my "rest" stops but that wasn't just me. My new Dad needed to "rest" a lot too. Heh Heh. Oh yeah, I knew I was staying in Hamburg with my FM, but I didn't know I could eat it too. Dad was feeding me nibbles of hamburg until Mom yelled at him. I miss my buddies and my FM & D, but this place seems pretty cool. The cats are pretty uptight though. I mean really, all I want to do is play. You,d think we were supposed to be enemies or something. Mom says not to worry. They'll be back in when the snow starts flying. And then it'll be a long Winter. OK I,m getting tired now, so Mom will tell you all about ME while I go and rest up. I've got plans, big plans.
My turn! Ciscos' Mom.! Yes it was a long ride home to NH but a good one. Cisco slept and played in the back seat and generally was just a pleasure. Once home he settled in pretty quickly. He's got a good appetite and sleeps pretty well. I'd forgotten how much time puppies take but it's all been worth it. I did take him to the Vet Monday morning for a checkup. He's on an antibiotic for pneumonia. At the time he sounded good, but during the night his breathing became laboured so Tuesday we went back to the vet. He's on a second antibiotic now. Whatever he has, it hasn't slowed him down. He plays constantly; sleeps well and just loves to be around his people. He loves, just loves to eat. So I've broken his meals down to one full meal early am and evening, and two half meal "snacks" during the day. With a reasonably full belly, he's no longer snapping at cookies like a baby velociraptor.
Haven't started obedience training yet. That will come soon. He has a good grasp on NO and is starting to get come and sit. We're just having a good old time with this little guy. He's pleasant, sweet, has a really good disposition and is charming everyone he meets. Hope to have photos by  next update.

9/12/10 - I was adopted today!

8/18/10 - Hi everyone Cisco here..... I am a handsome sweet baby boy with beautiful markings.
I just came into rescue today. My FM has to review my paperwork to ensure my shots are up to date and I will be ready for my forever home. My FM will get some better pic's soon. I am a puppy and was to busy playing to stand still for pictures :)
*Note- Because I'm a puppy, I'll need someone who is home most of the time- stay-home, work at home, retired.
