| UPDATE 3/8/10 - well, sorry i'm late on the first one. puppies really do take up a lot of time. ;) brittle is doing great. she and janey (our other adoptee) are best friends. in fact, janey, who ALWAYS hated the crate, now sleeps in there ALL night with her. (brittle doesn't like being alone lol.) in fact, we were amazed to see brittle laying on her back on the dog bed today while janey was INSIDE the crate, all alone, just gnawing on a bone! since it's just been a week, we are just starting out. but we adore her, she's happy and healthy and loves to play with janey, go on walks and hang outside in the sun (now that it's warming up). looking forward to starting obedience training in a few days - hoping for some tips on anti-counter surfing techniques. =) 2/26/10 - I was adopted today! 2/10/10 - Hello again (it's me, Brittle). This week was really fun! I am not really a fan of the cold, but that white stuff that fell out of the sky - that was AMAZING! It is just so versatile. You can eat it, jump around through it (at least when it isn't too deep), dig in it...I definitely don't mind being outside as much as long as this snow is around. My foster mom is busy working on a new command with me: "stay". She says I'm doing really well with it for my age. She also tells me I am and "extrovert" - whatever that means. I just really like to play with other dogs and prefer to have company around all the time. I love it when she tells me how sweet I am and that I am such a good dog; I really want to make people happy. Oh, and talk about happy...my foster mom took me for a CAR RIDE...WOW! I was kinda scared to get in that thing at first, but who knew there were so many things to see?!? Once we got going, I was just glued to the window, but after a while, I think all that movement made me kinda sleepy. Speaking of sleepy (yawn), I think it's time to go for a crate-nap. I need to be at my best in case my forever family chooses me today - I just know whoever it is, they will think I'm the best (my foster mom says so all the time). 1/9/10 - Hello there! I am Brittle. I am waiting to be adopted and thought you might like an opportunity to get to know me a little better. I will start by saying how cute I am. Just look at me! It hasn’t gone to my head, though. I am the type who likes to check out a situation before I dive in. I am fun-loving and usually the first to want to eat, but I am also very ready to please. I have gotten really good at “sit” already and can climb and descend stairs with ease. I prefer to cuddle rather than sleep alone, so it’s been nice to have my sister and the foster family’s dog around to curl up with when a person isn’t available to climb up on. I also enjoy running and finding sticks outside. I don’t chase them yet, I just like to chew on them and tease my sister with them. I KNOW I would make a great addition to your family. I have a lot of love to share and hope you will consider selecting me as your very own! 12/5/09 - Peanut and Brittle are doing amazing. Both puppies are gaining weight, their fur has come back. Both puppies are completely cratetrained and are doing very well with housebreaking. These girls have amazing personalities and just want to please and be loved. They love to be cuddled, play with toys or just run in the yard. They are growing leaps and bounds. The girls go to see Dr. Matt on Monday will have their shots and be ready for their forever homes. Don't let these two sweeties pass you by. If they have half the temperment of their mom they will be the best dogs ever. Let's get them home for Christmas. They are great with all the other dogs, birds and every person they meet. We don't know who Daddy is but some sort of lab or hound probably. Get your apps in quick. 11/30/09 - I stopped by to meet the puppies today and take pictures. What a pair of darlings!!! I couldn't get pictures because every time I'd point the camera, they'd come investigate. Then when I turned, they'd follow. Then there's little missy, here. Foster Mom says she was the "shy one", but she must be feeling MUCH better because she's all over the place!! I could only get motion pictures of her! Then, while FM and I were visiting in the house, we turned around and there she was to join us! I mean, she somehow got out of the pen outside and THEN managed to get the front door open to stroll into the kitchen! She's only about 6 inches high, we had NO IDEA how she did it!! Life will never be borning with this one in yours!!!!! 11/23/09 - Brittle arrived via private plane with her mom Sally on Saturday night. The poor little thing is weak, under weight and covered with mange. Will let you know how the Dr visit goes tomorrow |
