UPDATE 8/31/10 - Well what can I say about Bonez. He is a good boy but a bit of a Jeckel and Hyde. He came in to help Marley relax and keep him company while I'm away at work. This has worked out fairly well as Bonez is well behaved inside and was more used to being home alone. Marley is improving and is much less stressed now that he has a house mate to keep him company. They hang together well and are starting to play and bond as friends. Bonez has also made friends with the neighbor and her dog.
Inside Bonez is rather calm and a bit playful. He likes to play tug or chase the ball and enjoys just lounging on the couch. Outside is another story. Bonez is super aware of everything that's going on and gets very excited when he see's another dog or a squirrel and especially the neighborhood rabbit. Marley has this trait also but Bonez makes Marley look like a angel in comparison. Marley can be somewhat controllable but Bonez gets so worked up it's difficult to break his attention and excitement.
We are all working together to learn to relax and not get crazy when a distraction comes around. Bonez does need more time to adjust to his new surroundings and learn not to chase anything that moves. He has already shown some signs of improvement but it will take time to get him consistent and more trustworthy to not chase. They are both getting better at not pulling on the leash as much but can be a hand full if distracted. As I work with Bonez to relax when he gets excited don't you know Marley will act up sometimes so hopefully as the lessons continue they both will develop better outside manners.
They both have their own personalities and it seems like one complements the other. They are an interesting pair and becoming good companions.

8/22/10 - Bonez has been adopted!

8/12/10 -
Hi everyone I love my foster home.  I get to play with a new pup called Zorro who keeps me and my other foster brother  busy most of the day. This is a good thing because I get so tired out that I sleep like a baby. I think that my next forever home should have another dog for me to play with. It keeps me busy and I do not pace back and forth and can relax a little. I am very good in the kennell and it makes me feel  safe at night. I am really working hard on the leash. I still pull a little because I get so excited to go on a walk. Never a boring day at this foster home. Did I mention that I love kids. We have 6 here at this house and they play ball with us dogs and run in the yard. I also like to snuggle with the 7 year old. I also do not mind those furry things that are called cats. I just look at them and walk away.  Why bother with them, they are no fun to play with. I really hope a forever home calls soon. I like it here a lot but I would also like a home to call my own.

8/7/10
- So Bones came back to me again. I fostered him about a year or so ago. He seems very happy. No probelms with introductions with my dogs. He is jumping around playing with my boy with no problems at all. It is like he never left. My 8 month baby is here & he is being very careful not to step on this crawling baby. Smart cookie he is he already knows the boundary of no living room or upstairs. He is getting along well at this point. I will keep an eye on them all with the leash law in effect. At this point he is being just an energetic boxer boy.

UPDATE 7/11/10 - Bonez has adjusted well to our family.  He is already very attached to the kids and is tolerant and quiet with them.  He is however, still very aggressive acting when he sees another dog (even when we are out for walks).  He growls, lunges, and tries to attack as well as trying to pull away from me.  I have been walking him with a gentle leader thinking that might help, but so far he is the same.  I have been in touch with an obedience specialist who will be helping us reintroduce him to dogs within a few weeks.  I am hoping this helps.  We are enjoying him, however are needing a dog that is not just great with humans, but other dogs as well.  Let us know of any suggestions you folks may have.
Thanks so much!

7/6/10 - Bonez has been adopted!

6/30/10 -
Bonez has only been here 4 days, but so far, he's been a perfect gentleman. He's quite small for a boxer boy and, since he doesn't jump on people or the furniture, its like he's not here. He's a great houseguest. Did I mention he doesn't beg food? He seems oblivious to all the marrow bones littered around the house and gets along great with the resident dogs here. He hasn't needed to be crated at all, doesn't counter surf or chew things. He hasn't gotten the hang of the dog door yet, but he'll bark by the door to go out and come in. He hasn't had any accidents in the house at all.
He likes to bark at the neighbors and the chickens next door. We don't have kids or cats, but before his adoption, he was good with both, so we're going to leave it with a "yes" answer. We also don't crate him because he's so good, so we're just presuming he still knows about a crate, just no recent experience with it. Can't wait to learn more about him! Stay tuned...

6/25/10 -
Due to a divorce in the family, Bonez came back into rescue to find the family who's going to keep him forever!

6/26/09 - Bonez went to his forever home today!

6/10/09
- I have only had Bonez for a little while. He is great. He is gentle around younger children 8 months to 1.5 years (I babysit) and with my older children. He now knows how to be a dog. He runs with my dogs and loves to be outside in the fenced area. He is crate trained, but I leave him out if I run to the store and nothing is destroyed. I do cage at night, but he has never had any accidents in my home. I have taught him to back and stay when the door opens. He no longer tries to dash out. He's still excited about other dogs and still pulls on leash. We are working on it though. He does not even acknowledge my cats. That is a good thing. He gets along well with all my dogs and children. He will make any family happy. He even looks a little fatter to me. He eats well. He will finish up what my other dogs do not eat and he does know the sit command and will come to me with a forceful voice. OH yea he loves to play ball.

5/28/09
- I Received Bonez on 5/25/09. I got him home and he was very nervous at first. I looked at him and knew why he was called Bonez. He looks a little skinny to me but, that is my opinion. He gets along well with my two boxers with in the first 1/2 hour. He was very excited when seeing another dog. He still gets that way because he was the only dog in his previous home but, he does get along with other dogs after he gets to know them. He has not bothered my cats at all. He likes to run to the front door and sneak out but, He is learning. I now am able to tell him back and stay and he does. If you do not tell him he will try to make a run for it. He is great with my children and even the 1 year old I babysit in the after noon. At first I do not think he knew how to be a dog. He was nervous and stayed to himself. The next day though he was out and running with my boy boxer and now they are best of friends. I can see that he is actually starting to get muscle from the playing and running he has been doing. He does still pull on the leash but, we are still a work in progress. He will get in the cage with no problem and eats like a pig. Boy dogs seem to throw their food everywhere. Here are some pictures and I will update is progress. Bonez will make any family happy. Oh yeah he is already to go. He is updated on shots and is neut. He will entertain himself with a ball. He loves it.
