UPDATE 8/2/10 - Hi everyone, Blue here, I'm so happy in my forever home. My mom spoils me rotten. I've got lots and lots of toys and I get to have play dates with my 4 legged cousins. We run and run and run.
_____________
Blue has settled into his forever home and he's definatley a teenager. He loves everyone he meets and everyone loves him. He's got quite the personality. Does something naughty and then looks at you with those big brown eyes and tries to act all innocent. Right now he's out running circles in his yard. He loves to run laps around his pool(which he still thinks is a giant water bowl).

UPDATE 7/1/10 - Blue here. I'm so happy here in my forever home. I have so much fun playing in my big yard. Mom bought me a swimming pool of my very own. I don't like to swim in it too much but I do think it makes a pretty nice water bowl.
Word of warning to my boxer friends. I found out the hard way that rawhides are not a good treat for me. One of moms friends gave me one the other day. I really enjoyed eating it but then for the next 3 days I was really really sick and had to go visit the vets (yuck) that wasn't pleasant at all. Mom says I'm doing much better now and that I'm back to my boxer boy self again.

Blue has settled in really well. He's a really good boy. Everyone who meets him remarks on how handsome he is and what a good boy he is. He's captured a few hearts and made lots of friends of both the 2 and 4 legged kind.

UPDATE 6/1/10 -   Hi, Blue here. I've been with my new mommy for a month. I get to sleep on the couch, go for rides and sleep on the bed.
My mommy got me a toy box of my own and I have toys that are all mine. I have a real nice big fenced in yard to run & play in.It has nice grass & lots of shade. Mommy has her lawn chair out there too so we can hang out together.
I go to dog class, but I get really excited with the all the other dogs around and jump around a lot. I'm learning how to focus better though.
My Auntie lives next door with her dogs. They come over to have play dates in my big yard. We have a lot of fun together.
My mommy says I'm a good boy, I just need to learn a few more manners. I am home and I am loved..what more could a dog ask for.

Blue is adjusting well to his new home. His ear infections have been cleared up and he's putting on some weight.

UPDATE 5/8/10 - Blue here ... I've moved to Maine and love my forever home in the country with my big fenced in yard to run and play with my cousins (there are 4 of them that live right next door....2 of them look like horses to me but Mom tells me they are dogs). Speaking of Mom...I love my new mom; I give her kisses all the time even though I know she doesn't like doggie kisses on the face I sneak them in when she doesn't expect them. We're still learning each others routines and likes and dislikes but I can already tell that my Mom and I are going to be great together.
Blue went to the vets on Wednesday. He has infections in both ears so we are working on clearing those up. He's not very happy about having drops put in but I don't know many dogs are. We're also working on putting a little more weight on him as he only weighs 61.8 lbs. Things are going great. Blues is a wonderful boy and a great companion.

5/1/10 - I was adopted today!

4/4/10 -
Well, let me tell you about my day yesterday.  My FM got me up real early,(she nudged me), and we got ready and got into the car.  We didn't drive very far when we pulled into this parking lot.  I saw a tall fence and some dogs inside. She said we were at the dog park. I couldn't wait to get inside.  My FM kept telling me I better be a good boy or else........... She took the leash off of me and I ran around to say hello to all my new friends. We all ran together. I was in front because I was the fastest runner there. There were some really small dogs there that barked at me and I was scared! But I found my FM and she protected me. They have toys and buckets of water whenever we want it.  I must have been good, because she took me back there last night to play some more. My FM said I  came when she called me, and when it was time to go home, I came right to the gate to get my leash on and go home.
I was pooped. I hope we can go back again. She says we have to work on my leash manners, but I'm getting better.  I am very happy here but I need to find my forever home. I'll have my work cut out for me training a new family, but they will learn because I am so cute and lovable. All I need is food and love and someone to snuggle up with at night. I don't think that is too much to ask,
do you?  Hope to meet you soon.  Love Blue

3/14/10 -
Blue is a happy dog. He is very easy to manage, not stubborn at all.  When you speak to him, he obeys.
He catches on quickly when we try new things.  He still needs work on leash training.  He is happy to be on the leash if he is outside with me, but when walking he is still pulling. We  have just started to have him sleep in his own bed in the bedroom.
He is doing OK with that. We have play dates with the dog next door. There are never any problems. He is a wonderful dog and a great addition to any family. What are you waiting for???????????

2/25/10 -
Blue travelled north to NH last week to get away from the snow!  His foster home was busy busy busy and Blue needed some R&R. He has settled in nicely.  If you have an empty lap.............have I got a dog for you.  He doesn't care where you are, he will get comfy just laying across you. He is crated only when I go out.  Otherwise he is right with me and is very obedient.  His manners are improving. It's amazing what he understands when there is a dog biscuit in your hand. He loves to play with all of his toys and loves to chase his light-up ball. He is well behaved in the car, and is very happy when we do drive up anywhere, because he is guaranteed a treat from the person at the window. He learns fast! He is a very happy dog with the biggest puppy dog eyes you have ever seen.  He needs a new family to snuggle up with and love. Scoop him up fast, he's a keeper!

12/7/09 -
Blue has finally let his leg heal up after breaking 3 casts. He has no more casts and no more e-collar to wear. The vet says that Blue's leg healed up a lot better than he thought it would. He couldn't get over just how much the ulna had moved into place. It didn't take long for Blue to start walking and running around on his leg. When his leg starts to bother him, he does hold it up and stops using it. We tried to get Blue neutered. but the vet wanted us to wait until he was fully weight bearing. Now we will be waiting until the beginning of January.
Blue is a big cuddle buddy and believes that us humans are his pillows. He doesn't care what position he is in as long as he gets to lay on you. Blue spends a lot of his time playing with the other dogs. Once we took the e-collar off of him, he was like a completely different dog. He can't get enough of playing and does so from morning to night. We are working on Blue's manners as he doesn't have many. His head is as tall as our dinner table, so he use to put his head on the table when there was food on it. We have since been able to stop this behavior. Blue has learned to sit upon command and to stay. He doesn't know much else, but we are working on that too.

9/19/09 -
We've had Blue for a week now and he is absolutely wonderful. Blue is a very tall (34 inches) boy for his age and weighs in at 57lbs with the cast. He will be a year old on Halloween. Blue does great with the other 3 dogs in the house. We don't have any cats, so I don't know how he would do with them. Blue also does great with my 3 teenagers. Blue is such a love bug and thinks he is a lap dog.
I took Blue to the vet this past Tuesday for what I assumed to be a bandage change. The vet realized that Blue didn't have any x-rays after he was originally casted. He took the x-ray and found that Blue's bones were not even set. He told me I had to come back on Thursday to see if he could rebreak Blue's leg and try to get it more aligned or he would have to have surgery to fix it. I dropped Blue off Thursday and waited for the phone call 2 pick him up. The vet called and I went to get Blue. The vet showed me from a new x-ray how close the bones are now. It was alot better than before, but unfortunately his leg may be a little crooked. We get to go back in a month to see how much his leg has healed.
This young boy is waiting for you to put in your application.

- Blue is coming into rescue tomorrow evening due to no fault of his own. Blue was hit by a car on Friday and suffered a broken leg. His owner took him to the emergency vet for treatment and he now has a cast on his leg that needs to be on for 6-8 weeks. He also needs to go to the vet frequently for bandage changes. His owner is unable to afford follow-up care and already is financially strapped due to the ER vet visit. Their work schedule has also changed recently and Blue is left home alone much more often as much as she loves him she wants him to have the vet care he needs and a better life where his people are home more.  Blue is a typical happy go lucky boxer boy. He loves children and lives with 3 children (5 years old- 13 years old). Once Blue's leg is healed I have no doubts he will find a home very quickly. Pics to come tomorrow.
