UPDATE 7/2/10 - Bella has been here 3 weeks, seems so much longer. She is learning to adjust in our family. I don't beleive she ever had much freedom in a house, since she really can't be trusted to be alone. We are having some issues with her going potty in the house, even though we walk her thoughout the day. She doesn't really give signals when she has to go out, but we take her out on a regular basis during the day. We crate her when we are out, and she does great in the crate. When we are home we keep her with us so we can keep an eye out for her. Again, it is a short amount of time she has been with us and she is learning. Now for the good stuff! She is a very affectionate dog and loves to cuddle with you. She sleeps every night between my husband and I and isn't too much of a bed hog! She knows basic commands, but we are taking her to training. With other dogs, she is very aggressive so we'll work on that. She loves to play ball with us and has so much energy for a 6 year old. We lo  ve her and I know she loves us.

6/12/10 - Bella has been adopted!

6/4/10 -
Bella continues to be a very social pup with people and a very dainty lady. This morning I was trying to get all dogs to have the post breakfast airing that is customary and Bella had just gotten outside when there was a little bit of thunder in the distance. She bolted for the house!
After the shower, and when things were again quiet I put her outside and went out with her. She is a very dainty lady where wet ground is concerned. She picked her way around some of the puddles, made her own puddle and wanted back in the house very quickly!
Strangely enough, she usually takes no notice of my dogs walking by her crate, but every once in awhile she goes ballistic. Life is very confining for her here. She does get outside time and family room time with me and the toys, but she does spend quite a bit of time in the crate. She would make someone a very nice companion as long as they don't have another dog or a cat. She is a "people" dog.

5/23/10 -
I cannot believe how well Bella behaves outside of the crate when it is just the two of us. She is very good and extremely obedient. Outside, last night, she had the smaller size clutch-ball. She kept bringing it to me on the deck. I would tell her to "leave it" and she would because she wanted me to throw it for her. It wasn't long before it was pretty much a great game and she just wanted more and more. She just loves to play! Finally, we said enough, and she had a long drink and was ready to go inside.

5/15/10 -
Bella really is quite a remarkable pup! She really loves to play all by herself and the toy can be anything from a ball to just an old stick. She races around and has a great time. Sometimes she "overruns" her toy and has to "find" it! What I have discovered about her is this: she has had some serious obedience training! She will sit easily on command, give paw, etc. She will wait until given the word before touching her food. She will also sit and wait at the door until I go out and then I release her and she goes outside. If I crouch down and call her, she will come to me and
sit. I have been working with her on leash and tho' she pulls, it is not as bad as originally. While on leash I keep talking to her to keep her attention and it seems to work, so far. I don't know what her reaction is if another animal is in the vicinity. Time will tell. She is very high energy and needs a lot of exercise and she is getting some in the yard and some mental exercises by going through her known commands. This morning I had her outside the crate eating and told her to sit, she did, I moved her dish into the crate and sent her in. I needed her in the crate because my 4were getting antsy to go outside. No problem, she let me move her dish. I speak quietly to her, no hollering, no panic type of voice. She responds well.

5/8/10 -
Bella loves to play soccer. The size, color or age of the ball doesn't matter. I was a bit worried about her getting enough exercise, but I shouldn't have. She exercises herself with a ball. She uses her front feet with a great deal of expertise. Much more so than any other boxer I have seen. She especially likes balls that have a noise in them. There is one that rattles, and two that have squeakers. When she comes back into the house she takes her toys right into the crate! Before long she won't have room to lay down!
She enjoys being scratched around the ears and back rubs. She is very social with people and Christina said she was very good with her 3 y.o. Bella has an old six inch scar on her left side which is quite noticeable. She is a very strong girl and pulls on leash, but does know several useful commands: wait, sit, paw and down. She will come when called, but not if she is intensely playing with her ball. She is not a "jump on you" type of dog.
She is heart worm negative and is ready for adoption. Are you the lucky person to get this nice girl?

5/2/10 -
Bella is a lovely girl, with a sweet disposition with people. Right now she is stressed and we are just getting to know her. Time will tell how she is with other dogs and cats. She is good with children of all ages. She is a pretty solid fawn with a very short dock. She crates well and was quiet in the crate all night.
