UPDATE 8/28/10 - Abbey is wonderful.  Abbey had a vet appointment this morning for a baseline with my vet.  He said her heart beat sounds strong & no appearance of ill health.  He did another blood test to check the lyme antibodies but, believes the meds she was on were sufficient.  Abbey is weighing in at 50 lbs. which may be a little thin for such a tall girl and she is!
Abbey is making progress on leash walking & is still getting accustomed to the sounds & smells of our neighborhood.  She is sweet & only wants to please & be loved.
And now, drumroll....the fantastic news - her and Ryder are getting along just fine.

8/21/10 - Basil has been adopted!

8/15/10 -
Basil has been with us for 4 weeks now and is such a sweet girl.  She is starting to give us kisses now.  She always gives them to Casey. She loves her walks.  She does have some separation anxiety but is ok if you have to leave and put her in her crate.  Today she got another bath and her nails trimmed.  This girl will not last very long because she is the sweetest girl we have ever had.   This girl loves everything amd really looks for your attention.  She loves to be rubbed and if you stop, she begs for more!  Basil has settled in quite nicely into our home and I'm sure she will fit in nicely in your home.  Is there anybody out there who wants to take my place and be her "rubber"?  In return you will get love and devotion......now who can resist that!

8/7/10 -
Hello everyone , Basil here  I really like my FM & FD. This week I was stung by a bee and I was not doing so well but now I am all set thanks to my mom and that nice vet Michelle.  I had an allerigic  reaction to the bee sting.  Boy was I very uncomfortable.  I had all these red spots and they were itchy but now I feel a lot better.   Let me tell you a little bit about my self . I love to be petted  and just to lay around  on my bed. I have great table manners and walk ok in the leash when I go for a walk. I'm very low keyed and did I say I love attention!  I ride well in a car.  I love to play no matter who it is, I just love to play.  I give lots of kisses and I can be left out of my crate  without getting in to anything.  I hope to find my new family soon!

From Foster mom

Basil has been wonderful & a perfect house guest.  She did have a rough week but now she is feeling back to normal.  Basil is allerigic to bee stings and had some swelling, hives, and itched a lot but was a trooper throughout the whole ordeal. This girl is just great.  She does bark if someone is at the door.  She loves to cuddle  with Casey in one bed.  We get a lot of complments on her all the time so if you're looking for a low keyed  boxer that  does not make any messes,  Basil is the one!

ello  everyone, Basil has been her for 1 week today , This girl is the sweetest  Boxer we have fostered. She came in with Rumi and I don't think she misses him. Right now she is taking a nap from playing all morning .  If you talk to her , she will talk back to you. She is very vocal , she loves attention and food, all kinds of food.  She was tested for Lyme this week and  was positive although you would never know she had it. She takes her med's in the morning  and  is fine all day.  She has a lot of energy.  She is the perfect house guess and looks forward to greeting you when you come home .

llo everyone, Basil here! I arrived at my foster home on Saturday. My foster mom & dad gave me a nice bath and clipped my nails. I go for about 2-3 walks a day and have been eating 2 times a day as well. FM took me to the vet's yesterday and I was tested for Lyme. I tested Postitive but I will be ok. I have some meds that I need to take. I must say I really like it here. I am a low- key girl who is good riding in the car, going for walks, giving kisses and getting attention. I'm crate trained and housetrained. I don't make messes, know some commands, and I listen very well .
From Foster mom
Basil is a great girl. She is so sweet and a perfect house guest. She knows some commands like Sit and Lay Down. She is a beautiful girl. She is ready to play in a heartbeat and loves to play with her friend Casey (our Boxer) and also with my husband. She loves to snuggle and would get on your lap if she could fit! Don't wait! Snap her up! You can't beat getting a dog who doesn't need the kinks worked out.

Basil arrived here late Saturday afternoon. She is a great, sweet girl. She let us give her a bath & trim her nails. We had to take about 10-15 ticks off of her, too. She is still stressed. She is eating a little bit & drinking a lot because of all the heat we are having. She is a beautiful, white, female with a brindle patch. One of her eyes is brown and the other is blue. She came from the shelter with Rumi. They were found together as strays. Basil  looks really good, so hopefully she will find her new home fast. I will have more as we get on this week.
