UPDATE 7/12/10 - It seems hard to believe that we've had Ambrose for six months. We're so used to having him around that it's difficult to imagine life without him. He is excited about the Home Run Derby right now. He's cheering for David Ortiz; but alas...c'est la vie. Home Run Derby aside he is wonderful and recently finished training. The training class has helped Ambrose grow and especially jump for high-five. He is happy, healthy, and loves knocking over glasses with his tail. He especially loves keeping his mother company while she nurses he broken wrist. Oh yes, he loves mud...mud...m...

UPDATE 4/7/10 - Ambrose just turned 6 months old last week. We can't believe how big he is getting (but still remains as handsome as ever). He had been going to puppy class every Tuesday until several weeks ago (he got neutered that week) and will start his "big boy" obedience class next month. Now that the weather is warm we have been able to walk more and started hiking some nearby trails. Ambrose loves the outdoors! In fact, if it were up to him, I think he would spend the whole day playing in the yard.

UPDATE 3/9/10 - What a wonderful first two months Ambrose has had!  Of course, his outrageously happy personality helps. He LOVES everyone he meets: friends, neighbors, other dogs, children, even the vet (right after his last round of shots he turned around and gave the him a kiss)! In fact, he is even becoming "friends" with our kitty, who usually keeps to herself. He is doing very well adjusting to the leash and is even managing to break in his new teeth without destroying our home. Did I mention how incredible he is?!? My husband and I just couldn't be happier!

UPDATE 2/6/10 - Ambrose has had a wonderful first month. He is completely housebroken, loves to play with his toys, and is mastering walking on the leash. We have introduced him to many dogs- some ones that our friends own and others through his puppy class. He has loved them all. We are trying to get him more comfortable in the car and he seems to be doing a little better. Mostly just short trips to Petco or obedience class. He loves his class and we learned some tips to help with his barking (which were so helpful). He already knows sit and stay. The big (and most important) thing we are working on is come. He knows what it means but sometimes tries to ignore it. We have been working with him in our yard using a long/retractable leash. More to come on this next update. Health wise he is great. My husband just weighed him last night...already 33 pounds and he just turned four months old! We knew he would be big, and he certainly is beautiful. His next vet visit is in two weeks but last tr  ip went very well and he kept given the vet kisses. He is just such a sweetheart! We have friends coming over for dinner tonight who are so excited to meet him and I know he will be thrilled to have more people petting him and giving him kisses!

UPDATE 1/15/10 - Ambrose has had such a wonderful first week in his new home. He is almost completely housebroken, learning how to walk on a leash, and working on some basic commands. He is a fast learner and so eager to please. He has had a busy week, meeting lots of new people (which he loved!), taking his first car trip to Petco, and mastering the stairs. His favorite new toy is a lobster one of our friends brought for him. He loves to play tug and is even learing "fetch." When he is finished playing, he comes over and curls up on my lap to take a nap...I call hime my little "snuggle-bug." He is going to the vet next week for his next round of vaccines and will likely be going to Grandma's as well to meet her girls (labrador retrievers). We are so excited to have him in our family and will keep you posted on his progress. He is already an amazing dog and I am so excited to see all he learns as he grows.

1/8/10 - I was adopted today!

Happy 2010 from Ambrose! My foster mom calls me coal cause I am so shiny and black. She says my eyes look like olives. What the heck are olives? Oh well. I am not into those resolution kind of things that my foster mom talks about, then she kicks her treadmil, wierd?? I guess you would say I have a dream for the New Year. I dream of my forever home. Dont get me wrong I love being with my foster family but I know they are getting me ready, kind of like school. I think I am doing very well. My foster mom says my family has got to be perfect, perfect like me she says, I think she really loves me. I am ready for my forever home....sorry I drifted off for a minute, nap time!!!!! I am waiting......xxxxxx Ambrose

Happy New Year from Ambrose! Are you the forever home I have been waiting for? My foster mom says I am doing so great! I am still learning not to puppy bite and I sure get what the word "no" means. I don't really like that word but I know my foster mom is teaching me to be a good boy. It is really hard but I think I get it. I love to curl up on my foster moms lap, play, run and especially eat! I think it might be nice for me to have a family that has another dog, perhaps another Boxer, cause I sure play like my dad who was a really beautiful boxer, but I will really play with anyone! I really love kids! I have been taking lots of little walks with my foster mom so that I get more comfortable with my leash. The big noises still scare me a bit but in no time I will be more brave. Today is snowing here and I just love watching the snowflakes fall! Well nap time again! HAPPY SNOW DAY FROM AMBROSE!!! I am waiting for you......xxx

Exciting breakthru today, just to add to our last update, Ambrose sat patiently by the back door today to let me know he had to go out! Way to go little boy. I still will keep a close eye on you, but your foster mom is so proud of you!

Update Baby Ambrose
Well just a quick update of Ambrose. He is getting used to lots of different sounds, feels more at ease in the car, eats so well, sits, working on potty training and walking pretty on his leash, wonderful at night in his crate. He is just such a joy to have around. Gets along with my big Boxer and respects his boundaries when it comes to my elderly Sheltie. He would be a wonderful addition to a loving family.

Just a quick update on this beautiful boy. I think you can change the bio to "crate trained". "Ambrose" who I call "Coal" just cause, but you can call him whatever you like, is a love. Saw his first Christmas Tree last night and I think he was in awe. He is a lap dog, loves to play, loves to eat, loves to please (knows the command for sit, no kidding!), very visual, very observant, loves kids, loves dogs, loves my husband, loves life, did I say beautiful? Oh what can I say, he is a total package! A Christmas Package! Are you the forever home he dreams of? More to come..........

12/15/09 -
Dear Santa, I would like a forever home for Christmas. I have been such a good boy! I sleep pretty good in my crate and I never have any accidents. I am very good on my leash but I am a bit afraid when the big cars drive by me but I am getting used to it. I have been going out to do my buisness. My foster mom says I look like a big hunk of coal and would look great in someones stocking. She thinks I am beautiful. I love my skin brother and my two fur siblings. I would do great in a home with another dog and I would love love a little boy or girl to play with. I love to cuddle most of all! Oh Santa see what you can do for me, I would be so grateful. Love, Ambrose

Ambrose slept thru the night and no accidents in his crate. I am an early riser(5:30 am) but I think he would adjust to your life. He has a wonderful appetite, loves to cuddle, loves my dogs, has not seen a cat. He is doing his buisness outside beautifully and rewarded! Believe me he is looking for the reward. He is all that you would want in a dog. He is playful but has a gentleness about him as well. We talked about going to his forever home this morning and he is so excited! More to come...

12/12/09 -
Well I just picked up baby Ambrose from Aunt Nancy. It was a long journey but Ambrose made it to his new foster home. His first foster home did an amazing job with him cause he is fantastic. He is so shiny black, his pictures do not tell the whole story! Believe me! The contrast of him walking in the snow is incredible. He used a collar and leash today and he did pretty good for his first try. Loves to play with his toys, loves the snow, my son, my husband. He has met my big boy boxer thru his crate but he seems to just want to play with him. His tail never stops moving! He is such a boxer, in the way he plays and stretches yet he is a bit more gentle. Put this beautiful piece of coal in someones stocking this year. Are you the forever home that Ambrose is dreaming of? He wont be here for long!

- The puppies arrived on Sunday and are very active and healthy.  Such cute little babies.  They each have a personality.  So cute.  Pup 8 quiete the talker.  He really likes to be heard.  Do not worry, his talking does not last for long.  He just wants to know you are still there.  So cute.  The little puppies would fit perfect in a stocking?????  Put a pretty red or green bow on them and "ho ho ho".  Make this the best Holiday ever.  Bring home your forever friend.
**NOTE: Because I am a puppy, I will need someone who is home most of the time like work-at-home, retired, homemaker, etc.
