| UPDATE 9/6/10 - Aiko settled right in immediately. What a love! Within an hour after coming home, he was sprawled across the couch with his new favorite squeaky toy in his mouth. He is full of energy once outside running circles around the house but when he's in the house, takes every opportunity to relax! He lets us know when he needs to go outside by standing at the door, and sometimes scratches at the screen. How smart! He is gentle and will sit immediately after coming in the door from "doing his business" outside knowing that a treat follows. Yes, he's teething a bit but he understands "no". He loves to have you relax with him and of course rub those big floppy ears. Once you do that, he's putty in your hands. He already is becoming the neighborhood favorite with friends asking to dog sit any time. One even commented "he doesn't seem like he needs obedience training". No jumping, no barking, and sits and watches the kids get on the bus, as if to say "we'll play when you get home -
have a
good day." He came on his first family cookout yesterday meeting his grandparents and aunts and uncles. He was like the newborn baby, everyone cradling him and standing around staring at him. He was pooped from lots of playing with his young cousins! Slept the entire way home and already earned sleeping on our bed with us. He has his first trip to the vet this week, and will update all his good health news soon. He is the perfect addition to our home and we are all just thrilled. Boxers are the best! 8/28/10 - I was adopted today! 8/12/10 - Aiko went to the vets today. He is truely one of the nicest puppies ever. He has been here a week and has never even had an accident in the house. He is only 10 weeks old. He weighed 13 pounds. He plays nice with all the dogs and the kids. He is completely crate trained and sleeps so quiet all night. That is the good news. Bad news Dr. Matt thinks there might be something wrong with his elbows. They feel really hard, and thicker then normal. They do not bother him at all but do need further checking out. He also has kennel cough. So long and the short, he will go see Dr. Matt on the 24th. He will have Xrays on his legs and be neutered. Hopefully his legs will not need further treatment but we will know for sure then. So I guess the little guy gets to stay with us for a few more weeks until we figure out what he needs. 8/5/10 - Hi everyone, I am just loving life I run, I play, I chase the big dogs and drive them crazy with my puppy play. I am adorable and need a forever loving home. A home that is going to be patient with me and train me to be a good member of canine society. Is that you? Do you have the time to love me? |
