3/17/09 - All right I could be wrong, but I think Tahoe knows the English language.  I gave him a bath yesterday and then I needed to jump into the shower so I told him to go lay down on the towel that I put out for him.  When I got out of the shower there he was laying on the towel.  Then it was off to get dinner and I put a blanket on the sofa as he was still a little wet and told him go lay on the blanket and that is exactly what he did.  He is just so funny.. He looks at you with his big brown eyes and just melts your heart.   Since Tahoe is in a foster home with no other dogs the food issue is not an issue, but I did want to make sure you all know that he has no issues with people.  I have taken his food dish away while he was eating and have taken bones right out of his mouth and not a peep out of him. His progress with the bells is going rather slowly, but he whines when he wants to go out so at least he lets you know.  He will melt your heart if you give him a chance he is so wonderful.

I have been waiting for Tahoe to show me some manners that will need to be worked on, but so far there are none. He truly is a wonderful boy. He will go into his crate, but he has also earned house privileges. He was left alone for ten minutes, then twenty, then half hour, then two hours, and today we was alone for five hours and came home to a sleeping boy. He does not rush out of the house. I was out in my back yard the other day picking up some branches and thought I had shut the back door and the next thing I knew Tahoe is out there with me off leash. He stayed right with me and followed me right back inside. Please call if you have any questions or concerns about this boy. He will be glad to answer them for you.

Usually it takes a week or so to get the feel of your foster, but Tahoe is such an open book. Have you heard the saying "move in condition" well this is a "move in dog" Tahoe just loves being where he lands. We had a great first day. He already is getting the concept of ringing the bells to be let outside. He slept through the night without a peep and waited  until I got up. He loves to eat and drink and on his second day  here is playing with his toys. He knows his commands of sit, stay and down. He is so appreciated to be loved that he just loves you back ten fold. He is a keeper...

3/7/09 - Tahoe came to me today. He is a sweet boy that was starved and running the streets down South. We got him into rescue last week and have taken care of some minor skin medical issues and got him all up-to-date on all shots. His life on the street has made him a little food aggressive with other dogs so that is why we think for now he would be best in a home without other animals. Maybe once he learns and feels safe that he does not have to fight for his food that could ease up. He loves to ride in the car. Tahoe is ready and is so deserving of a forever home that will love him and care for him. Are you that family/person? Please consider taking Tahoe home with you.

2/26/09 - Betty was pressed for time this morning so she and I met up so I could be the boy to the vet. I cannot say enough about this sweet handsome gent. He jumped right up and into the truck. He rode shot gun all the way to the vet's. He gave me a million kisses and that tail never stopped wagging.
Betty tells me that the vet even commented about what a lovely boy he is and will have no problem getting adopted right away. This boy was a real neglect case. He had Scarcoptic Mange (that he began medication for 3 weeks ago). He was vetted today just to make sure he's clear and not contagious to us. He's golden.. He needs some weight and to finish his last does of ivermection, he has a small boo boo on the end of his tail that is healing and he will be ready to go to his forever home!!
