UPDATE 7/10/09 - Whiskey is doing fantastic!  I've been taking her to doggie daycare once a week so she can play with all of the other dogs and get some of her crazies out.  She has so much energy!  I've seen her wear out other puppies and go home and run around in the back yard with her ball.  We're going to be starting a second obedience class soon to cement her training and learn some new stuff.  I'm hoping to start her with some agility training soon, she's too young for the jumps, but we can start work on the other stuff.  Anything to use up some energy!  She loves going to the park with us, she doesn't swim, but she loves the water anyway.  Her best friend right now is a golden puppy she met in her puppy play group.  They hove so much fun playing in the mud!
We have been having some challenges with her eating habits so we'll be seeing the vet later today.  She is still all healthy and shiny, we just have to get her more interested in eating.
All in all she's been a wonderful addition to our little family.  She's been a super well behaved little puppy and we feel really lucky to have her.

UPDATE 4/12/09 - We are all settled in at home!  Spirit is such a bundle of love.  She loves everyone she meets but she is especially fond of her new parents.  She really does NOT like being alone!  She is doing great in her crate at night though, she puts herself to bed when we go to bed and sleeps through the night with no problems!
We took her to the vet on Wednesday and we were so proud of what a good girl she was.  She got 3 shots without even a whimper. She's scheduled for her boosters and spay the first week of May.
We're waiting to enroll her in obedience school a few more weeks.  She's still too young for regular classes and the next round of puppy kindergarten doesn't start until she's too big.  I am trying to get her used to other puppies by taking her to puppy play groups so hopefully by the time we do get to classes she's comfortable with all those other dogs.

UPDATE 4/4/09 - We brought Spirit home today after a quick trip to the pet store to get her a new collar and leash.  Everyone at the store thought she was the cutest puppy ever!  We even had a few people come out from the back because they had heard what a cute puppy we had.
She was pretty tired by the time we got home, so she was very well behaved.  We took her out on the leash and she was responding very well to "come".  She did amazing considering it was her first time ever on a leash. We will have some work to do with "down" I think.  We'll see how we do tomorrow when she's all rested up!

4/4/09- Spirit's lucky new family took her home today!

3/19/09 -
Well the puppies are now ten weeks old and have been to the vet for their second set of shots. I also have new weights on them all.Spirit weighs 14lbs 10ozs. She is the biggest girl and the first to do everything. She is the one that finds the fun things to play with, the one who figures out how to tip over the trash can and the one who climbs in the full water dish to get the paper towel that has fallen out of the trash. She is always on the go and always thinking of new adventures.
