UPDATE 7/5/09 - Sassie was growing like a weed and the best family member on 4 legs you could ask for.

Yesterday a tragedy hit while Don and I ran to town to get dog food.  Sassie needed to go out and so my dad was getting ready to hook her up and put his fingers in her collar.  Being a pup she was excited and twisted which caught his fingers in her collar.  She then panicked and tightened it more making him bleed and he was trying to get his fingers out or her collar off but couldn't even with mom's help in time.  We got a frantic call and rushed home where my sister was already doing cpr on her which we took over on the way to the vets but couldn't save her.  My heart is broken in two as I have just lost my best friend, and family member.  God gave me her to care for and then took her away so soon.  I know it was a freak accident, but my heart hurts so bad I can't stop crying.

UPDATE 6/16/09 - Our Sassy baby is wonderful.  We love her so much.  At first, I was not sure how she was going to get along with our boxer, Duke, but now they are buds.  They play all the time and sleep together all cuddled together. (With me in there too, of course. :-)
We could not be more blessed to have Sassy in our life.  We plan on going on a trip with her this summer and will let you all know how much fun we had.

6/6/09 - Sassie went home with her new family today!

06/03/09 -
Just wanted everyone to know that I am getting better going into my crate and not so much barking. Also, I am not barking as much when I'm outside and FM is not in view. I love to play frisbee and chase a ball, but not so good on bringing it to FM although she tells me to "bring it" whatever that means. FM says I'm faster than a cheetah when I make big circles in the yard and no one can keep up with me.I do have a few issues with housebreaking as the nice, soft bath rug is much better than the hard ground! My appetite is good and FM gives me lots to eat, but I am not gaining much weight yet. FM took some "poop" (stool specimen) to the vet's to see if I had worms or a parasite as I am having a problem with severe diarrhea. This should be fixed in no time as the vet can give me some medicine to help with it. Aside from that I am a loveable, snuggle bug who will make someone a wonderful fuzzy-faced friend.

- On Friday, I came to live with my FM and was very excited. I am a very loving, active, petite girl, and a little under weight, but the way I'm being fed I should be filled out soon. My boxer buddy Mojo and I had one misunderstanding, but all has been well since. I'm not sure about my crate, but FM says I must stop barking so much when I'm in it and I am getting better becasue I don't like it when she shakes that coin can. Every couple of hours she puts me in my crate and sets the timer and I already know when it rings I am going to be let out. FM has a cat and two ferrets and I lay down in front of the ferrets and watch them play, but I don't bother them. So far the cat and I have had no problems except her food is delicious, but FM keeps telling me I cannot have it! WHY? We go outside a lot and I love to play and lay in the sun. FM didn't get much sleep the first few nights I was here, but now I have her trained and we all get some sleep as I snuggle between FM and FD. I need an active forever family who can keep up with me as I am a very busy girl, but so sweet.
NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc
