| UPDATE 6/29/10 - Well Jax continues to do very well. We rarely crate him anymore since he has earned our trust being alone in the house. So with that said he makes himself at home where ever and when ever he wants (including my bed and sometimes my pillow in the middle of the night) He is as sweet as can be with my kids and makes his voice known when protecting the family. Yesterday he went to the doggie salon and had a bath along with his nails cut and the girls at the salon just loved him and talked about how he was a pleasure to have as a customer. :) It just reminds us how thankful we are to have him and feel as if he has always been part of our family. UPDATE 3/23/10 - Spring has finally arrived and Jax and the rest of us have been spending a lot of time outside. I have been taking Jax on my runs/walks with me and he does very well on the leash. It is nice to have a companion to run with especially for saftey issues. He continues to act like a puppy by rough housing with my husband and son and chewing pretty much everything and anything :) The other day he went into the pantry and grabbed a half opened bag of napkins, ran out the door in to the back yard and threw it all around. You can only imagine what my yard looked like lol! I had to pick up about 500 white napkins while he continued to run around just laughing at me! Although he can be crazy at times (just a typical boxer!) we still love him to death and feel like he has been with us forever :) UPDATE 2/25/10 - Jax continues to do very well. He plays just like a puppy by chewing my kids toys and sometimes my ankles :) We are hoping for early spring because the snow has kept us in the house more then we would like and I think Jax is going stir crazy like the rest of us!!Ocassionally he runs around the snow filled yard but I think the snow is to cold on his paws because he runs qickly and back in the house only making it around once (ha ha)He continues to take up most of the bed at night and snores very loudly! We will keep you posted on his progress but for now he is doing very well and continues to be the lovable family pet we hoped for! UPDATE 1/21/10 - Well, Jax (formally Noah) has been with our family for a month now and we feel like he has been with us forever! We really got lucky because Jax fit into our family like a glove. He is sweet, playful, but listens very well. He is so gentle with my children and follows me around where ever I go. He sleeps beside me in my office as I work and cuddles with me in bed! At times he loves to bite your pant leg and feet while you walk when he is in a frisky mood. Thankfully he is easily redirected! Usually when he does this it just tells us he wants and needs some exercise so we run around the yard or take him for a long walk. We have been going to obedience training and he is doing very well but I have to say he does all of the commands very well anyway so he is obviously the star of the class! We are so thankful he found us and we look forward to making many more memories with him in the future! 12/22/09 - I was adopted today!! 12/6/09 - Noah had a great first night with no accidents and he slept all the way through the night! He has a great appetite and he is working on his manners as far as jumping up to get your attention (ie having 4 on the floor). He is, for the moment, glued to his FM and FD side no matter where we go. He met the neighbors dogs through the fence this morning and showed no signs of aggression, he just wanted to play, play, and play some more. He is crate trained and happy to go in for a bone and good toys. 12/5/09 - Today we went to the shelter and picked up a happy boy named Noah. So far he is super sweet and very happy to be out of the shelter and in a house that has much less noise. He had a good bath when he got home and I think after a good nights sleep he will feel like a whole boy. Get your applications in because he is ready to go! |
