| 5/17/09 - I took Miss M on a home check visit and they just fell in love with her! So Matty I left Matty at her new home today with four generations of her new family. Her mom is the great grandmother, but I think her new BFF is going to be her teenage "niece". Such a happy family all together! 5/13/09 - Well, Miss Matty has certainly come out of her shell this week! So much so that I took her on a home check and the lady fell right in love with her. I just got the call and she's all set to go to her new home on Monday where they'll be the center of each other's attention! I can only imagine how spoiled she's going to be! H....Hhhello?? Is there anyone out there? M...m...my name is Matty. I'm not quite sure where I am. I'm not quite sure how I got here. I really like this lady I get to live with. She's really nice to me and lets me cuddle by her. I get really scared sometimes and need to cuddle. I'm four years old and I used to live with a family, but it was really confusing at their house. My kids got older and either they weren't around much and I was left alone or there were a bunch of kids around and it made me nervous. I got really sad when they left me alone. But then when they came home, I got really nervous with all my people moving going here and there all over the place. I like it here because its quiet. I can relax. I am not really sure how to relax, but I'm figuring it out. I have always lived with other dogs. Now I get to live with three other dogs. They made me really nervous at first, so I was snappy because I was scared. One is a big boxer boy who thought he was going to get on my back once... but now we both know better. One is a puppy who is always picking on me. Well, I thought he was always picking on me, but I've figured out that he's just a really big goof and wants to play. That makes me giggle. I LIKE playing. I haven't played in a really long time! This lady? She lets me sit with her on the couch. Plus, she has dog beds all over the place! The first time I got up to sit with her, I couldn't believe she'd let me! I'm so used to sleeping on the floor in thei kitchen, it didn't quite feel right, so I got back down on the floor bed. She has this really BIG fenced in yard, which is so great! I really really hate to be confined. I even get nervous left alone in a small room. I drool alot and bark and chew. My teeth kinda hurt because I had to spend so much time caged up and they're all worn down. But this lady? She lets me stay out in the house with the other dogs when she leaves! I can't believe it, so I'm really really good and don't chew anything, so she'll be proud of me! I would really love to have a home like this one. I really love my people, but I get nervous when there is a lot of coming and going. I like to be with someone and I love to ride in the car, so you could take me anywhere with you! Oh boy, wouldn't that be great!?! I like having a yard to run in and I'm even figuring out the dog door, but I don't need one because I can act like a proper lady in the house. I really hope someone out there is listening because I'm just here waiting for you to come get me. See you soon, Matty. 5/5/09 - Well, things didn't go so well with the other lady dogs, after all, and Miss Matty is now in foster with me and my pack. (all males, all the time). That didn't even go so well, in the beginning, when she had to spurn one of their armorous advances. My fault, I fell (too soon) for the "wiggle, whine, we wanna play with the new girl, yelp, I wanna meet you too, wiggle, WHINE" going on through the gate. However, in the aftermath of the riot that ensued, they're best buds and sleeping at my feet. This poor girl has had quite a ride of it. Given up by her family to a shelter because of her separation anxiety, moved to one home, to a kennel, to another home. She's landed here on a big cushy bed. She's really quite pathetic looking, right now. She's got hookworm, so she's loosing weight by the day. We've nipped that in the bud, so she'll be svelte again soon! She's a drooler anyway, but when she's stressed, she's covered in it! Putting her in a crate or a confined area really stresses her, that's why she's here with me and the dog door/ fenced in yard. But, she's spayed, up-to-date on her shots and looking for the special home that is waiting out there for her! You know who you are! She wants to be someone's special girl. She would love to be "the truck dog"... she just adores riding in the car! We're still getting to know each other, so I'll keep you posted! Of course, she's sleeping on my foot right now, so that should happen sooner than later! 5/01/09 - Matilda is an owner surrender to a local shelter. She was not doing well there and is now at the Doghouse for some one-on-one foster care. She is very good with people, but is unsure of what is happening to her. She does bark at new things and we will see how that plays out. She lost a lot of weight at the shelter but will be adding some pounds and become sleek looking soon. She is interacting well with the resident lady canines and we have had no issues. She certainly likes to cuddle and sleep in the room with the rest of the family. Stay tuned... |
