| 3/29/09- Lucy- who is now known as Remi- just went off to her forever home with her new mom!!!!! She'll be happy and loved now in Connecticut with her new (almost identical twin) brother and parents!! 3/15/09 - This little girl has had quite a week!! First she got to New Jersey via shuttle from one of the high-kill shelters we work with in Georgia. Then, Saturday she made the trip from New Jersey to Rhode Island where she was the hit of the party at the SCBR booth at the Pet Expo. She must have licked no less than 150 faces! Then, tuckered out from all the petting, she made the final drive up to Maine where she slept the night away. Today, she was the goodwill ambasador for us during a home check. What WILL she come up with to do tomorrow?!? This girl is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. This is the kind of dog that just boggles the mind how she ended up in a shelter, but then you thank goodness that she did so she can be yours! There isn't a cross bone in her body. Where any other dog would have been cranky and tuckered out, she just kept wagging and darting off to meet people. She LOVES people. All kinds of them! She really doesn't have much use for other dogs, but they're ok as long as they have a person with them. She's shown us she's housebroken and very well mannered in the house. She's a licker and I had to put a stop to that fast or else I couldn't have slept last night. She's still not too sure that she's not going to have to leave again, but given her week, that's understandable. Maybe when she finally feels secure, she'll start playing with the other puppy here. She's goofy looking enough, she just makes you smile to look at her. I say she's what happens when a Boxer and a Muppet meet, two strangers in the night, so to speak. THEN she throws you the little head cock and you just melt all over again. Are you ready for her?? She's all ready to go and waiting for you!! |
