| UPDATE 8/21/10 - Hannah continues to wonderful and gets better each day.
She's calm, engaging and lots of fun. Her health is fantastic and she's come really far in the manners department. We love her!! Thanks again for connecting us with such a lovely boxer!! UPDATE 4/30/10 - Hannah has totally settled in she's made friends with the young dog from next store and now has regular play dates. our new trainer has made all the difference in the world hannah now is happily jumping over fences, through tunnels and into and out of giant rings. She comes when called, sits, goes down and is very quiet. I am sad to report that we lost our grand male, Bert on Monday night. Very unexpectetedly, he bloated...who knows why...and we had to send him over the rainbow. At 13.5 the surgery was just too demanding. . our entire family is grieving, crying and missing him. He was a fantastic boxer who shared a connection to me. Where ever I went, he followed. I miss him so much... Hannah came to us when Bert's sister Ernie also passed from Bloat. Her sweet loyalty is wonderful during this time. UPDATE 3/27/10 - hannah has relaxed and is fully integrated into our home. She and I and a wonderful trainer have been working hard and Hannah is learning lots. She is a wonderful loving dog. With the help of our trainer most of her bad behavior is behind us. We all adore her!! Our Senior Boxer, Bert 13.5 years old, is kept company by her sweet cuddling. UPDATE 2/4/10 - Hannah has become very distructive when we leave the house. She managed to break out of two different wire crate and has chewed furniture, ripped various things and is generally quite naughty. She has also started barking, which is quite a new thing. Not sure what's up with her. When she first came to us, she very skiddish, now that she's comfortable in the environment, she's acting up!! We are in the process of looking for a new trainer. I live in upper Westchester County in New York. Can you recommend someone whom you know works well with boxers? When with us, she is generally a sweet animal. She's loving, not at all agressive and is terrific with kids. HELP!!! thanks much. UPDATE 1/17/10 - Hannah's has become much more relaxed and is fully into the swing of things. But, she is still skiddish around new people...especially men. Training her has been an issue. I was working with a trainer, in group classes, who used the clicker method which really didn't work for her. The sound scared her. Interestingly she is not a food motivated dog which has added to the difficulty of rewarding her. I think in her earlier life she was not given treast nor feed from a human hand so, even now, she doesn't react when offered snacks especially during training. I am now looking to try a differnt dog trainer. Does anyone have a recommendation for a person whom they have used? I have her on the gentle leader now so walking on the leash is solved. As she became comfortable in the house, she became a bit naughty when we leave so we decided to bring back the crate. To our amazement she manages to break out..I've got to styles and she has escaped from both. My husband now calls her Hannah Houdini. Can you recommend a crate brand which might contain her? She loves to play outside and we do a lot of ball throwing which she adores. She easily comes and goes through the dog door now and is accident free. She never challanges the invisible fense and takes full advantage of our 5 acres. She is a lovely animal with a sweet personality. She never fails to made us smile. Great dog, sweet personality and cute as a button. UPDATE 12/19/09 - Hannah continues to gain confidence. She has a sweet and loving personality and once is familiar with someone is terrific. Although she's got a huge box of toys, she has begun to get herself into trouble when I leave the house. I am considering bringing back the create for those times when she'll be without supervision. I need a new one as the little vixen manages to get out of the ones which I used to train my past two boxers. Our daughter comes home for Christmas on Monday and Hannah just adores here. We love this adorable boxer who has the sweetest eyes you've ever seen. Merry Merry to all you boxer lovers. UPDATE 11/4/09 - Good Morning: I took Hannah to our vet for a complete check up. She's been biting her feet and I was concerned. Vet can't find anything wrong but we've begun her on a treating of spray and meds which seem to have calmed the iting. checked for mites but none found. I just bought pet insureance decided on Trupanion because they cover genetic disease. AFter our other boxers struggle with cardiomyopthia I felt this was the best bet. Hannah is very nervous at her obedience training. I've switch to a Gentle Leader leash and it's helped. She's great at home, although she finds ways to excape from her crate!!! I know it takes patience. We just adore her and as the days go by she is fitting into our home perfectly. She and my male Bert now sleep together and hang out in my office all day. We are so happy to have her. She makes us smile... Bert is failing fast. I fear he won't be with us too much longer. 13 yrs and a month. He's a grand old man. cheers. 9/21/09 - I was adopted today! 9/2/09 - Sorry this took so long!!! Hannah is doing great!!! She loves, loves, loves Kids!
