| UPDATE 4/13/10 - Hey everyone it's the Duganator.
So, mom has left me 2 times in the last couple of months on trips and I am not fond of seeing her go. I cry and whimper when I see her pull out the suitcase and lie across her lap so she can't get up and leave. However, I have learned she comes back and that I get to lick her face until I can lick no longer! The nice thing about mom being away is that I get her side of the king size bed all to myself! Since it has been getting nice out mom is taking me for walks on our favorite trail and car rides galore! I can't wait until she is done teaching for the school year and we get all summer to hang out and go for rides in the car and hiking everyday! My sisters and I have been getting much cozier and they let me snuggle up with them at night on the couch and even let me play with them from time to time. I am definitely the ham of the family and like to be the center of attention. It is a great life here! UPDATE 2/5/10 - Hey Everyone it is me Dugan... Life is great at home, I have finally learned to play with toys and I like chasing the other dogs around when mom and dad play keep away with them. Unfortunately mom is on crutches for 2 months with a fractured hip and we haven't been able to go for walks but I get my exercise running laps in the backyard and playing in the house. I keep mom company when she is home and stuck on the couch. We cuddle up together in her pink snuggy. Does life really get any better? UPDATE 12/11/09 - Hey Everyone it is Dugan here or as my mom and dad call me The Dugman! I am happy as a clam here in my new forever home! I get to sit on the couch with my rents and my other 2 sisters and because I do not like my house or crate as they call it I get to sleep with mom and dad! Mom likes to put sweaters and sweatshirts on me when we go for walks because I still need to gain some weight and it is now cold and blustery o-side, I dont mind them to much as long as I still look like a macho man. I really really love it here and glad my rents decided to take a chance with me! Happy and Healthy holidays to all the boxers and dogs out there, hope you all find as good of a home as I have with all the love and treats your hearts desire. UPDATE 11/7/09 - Dugan is a GREAT dog! He fits right into the household with his two other sisters, one is another nub wiggling boxer and the other is a boxer mix. Dugan loves our big fenced in yard where he can romp around whenever he wants, which is often. We go on lots of walks, Dugan was great on a leash before we started obedience training and now he is is super walking right by my side and sitting whenever we come to a stop. His cousin jr. ( a pitbull which is his new bff) and him love to go on hikes together and romp around in the leaves. Dugan loves to go for rides in the car and we take him to new places often especially the pet store ( he is definitely spoiled)! Dugan is a great addition to our family, he is a dog that just wants to be loved and we have all the love to give to him! 10/10/09 - I was adopted today! 9/19/09 - I can't believe it has been 2 months since we got Dugan. Dugan is continuing to be a wonderful companion. It's great having Dugan around and he is looking forward to finding his forever home. A couple of weeks ago we took all the dogs down to the creek. Dugan wasn't afraid of anything, he got right in and kept going. Of course we had a retractable leash on him and he couldn't go too far. He absolutely loved the water and didn't want to get out when it was time to go. I've come to realize that some people are confused about the kind of food Dugan eats. Dugan eats a duck and potato dog food that is made by Dick Van Patten called Natural Balance. This food can be found at most pet stores and he just loves it. If you can't find the Dick Van Patten food there are other companies that make the same stuff. There's really not much more I can say about this boy that I haven't said already. 8/23/09 - Dugan has been with us for well over a month now. For a dog that spent 6 months in a shelter he is by far one of the best foster dogs we have ever had. He is very well mannered and goofy. Mid July I took Dugan to a BRAD (Boxer Rescue Awareness Day) and he got to meet a bunch of new people. It is apparent that he loves people of all ages and even walked up to a person in a wheelchair and had no fear. He was also great with the other dogs. We go on walks just about every evening and he is still walking great along side us. After the walks he loves it when we get back because he gets to run around the backyard like a maniac. Dugan is an all around great boy to have around. We have found that he does not like skateboards and attacks them. We also found out that Dugan is terrified of fly swatters. If this is all that bothers this boy I would say he's perfect to me. We are definitely going to be sad to see him go but he deserves to be in his forever home making his family complete. What are YOU waiting for? 7/14/09 - Dugan came to us from a shelter/vet near Syracuse where he was found as a stray. This young boy is such a burst of energy. They say he is somewhere between 2-5 years old but I would really lean towards the 2. He keeps me and my 2 boxers on our toes. Dugan has a very good appetite but he has to have a specific food to eat. He has to eat Duck & Potato because he has skin issues. Dugan loves to take walks and does awesome on the leash. He hasn't tried to chase after any squirrels or any neighborhood cats. We are not sure if he would get along with cats in the house, but dogs are definitely in. Dugan has gotten along with everyone that he has met, even the 6 year old neighbor (he was a little jumpy though). Dugan knows all the basic commands and he knows "paw". This young boy can't wait to find his new home, he is an absolute joy!! |
