| UPDATE 5/13/10 - Happy Spring fellow SCBR friend! Do you know what warm weather means…BASEBALL SEASON… BALL THROWING… PLAYGROUNDS…. and did I say BALLS, BALLS EVERYWHERE. Let me tell you, I hit the jackpot with my family…not only does 1 of my boys play baseball but both of them!!! Holy Cow! We are at the ball field almost everyday playing with kids and watching the baseballs fly. Chelsea and I love running around and seeing all the kids…maybe we could even become the mascots. Everyone keeps saying to my Mom and Dad how handsome I am and that they have never seen a white boxer before. That’s my cue to stand up tall and give them a look like oh yeah baby, that’s right I am the bomb. Then I give a wink to my Chelsea to let her know how lucky she is to be surrounded by such good genes. I think she just laughs at me because she just lies back down next to Mom and watches the game. I even heard that good friends of ours are in the process of adopting from SCBR, can’t
wait to meet a fellow friend! UPDATE 11/6/09 - Hey All Dougie here…well here we go again. I just got finished completely training my Foster Dad when he told me this nice family near Boston wanted to adopt me (Ughhh...I hope they are not Sox Fans). My Foster Dad was bringing me to the dog park, taking me on long walks, and letting me sleep in his bed. He said they have two boys and a boxer girl for me. Hubba-hubba!! Well, they drove a couple hours to get me and when I saw Chelsea…whooo hooo. We ran around and played chase (my kind of gal) then we both slept all the way home. I though it couldn’t get any better until we showed up at my new house and two boys came flying out of the house with hugs, kisses and all new toys. WOW! They played with me all day long then cuddled with me until I fell asleep. I love my new home and family. I just want to thank second chance boxer and especially my foster dad for preparing me for my forever home…I know I am going to be sooooo happy here. UPDATE 11/1/09 - We are in LOVE! Dougie is doing great! He and his new sister Chelsea are getting along awesome, even though when he first got here he immediatley took over all her toys and ripped them to shreds. She doesn't mind because she got new ones and he got a kong!!! They even cuddle together at night. Dougie already nows to follow our 4 year aroud when he has food because the chances of him getting some crumbs are great good. He also loves when our 10 year old gets home form school because he knows that they are going to go outside and play catch. He is still not sure about the automatic water and ice machine in the fridge whenever he hears it he comes flying over and keeps tipping his head from side to side wondering what it is. Halloween was really funny, he really didn't like the transformer outfit our son had on, he kept barking at him. Then he kept barking at our jack-o-lanterns! He is a character. We cannot even imagine life without Dougie and we have only had him a month. 9/27/09 - Dougie has been adopted! 9/16/09 - What happened to Allie? I've looked all over the house, every corner really. I looked all around the property, even the woods where the big deer run, and wow I almost got the rabbit but foster dad called me off the chase. I listen real good when I'm called to come, and sometimes I get a treat because I'm so good! Foster Dad said Allie has been adopted to the nice people that came on Saturday with this little girl, I really liked her. He said I could stay with him until he finds a really special home for a great guy like me. Hey! You think I'll get Allie's share of the treats if she's not here?!?!? yummmmm Foster Dad's a great guy and he's spending alot of time with me, but he is really tough with the rules: sit, stay, down, come, off the couch, and man oh man, but I just love the couch! He takes me in the back yard and thows the ball. I get it and bring it back he said I'm a good fetcher. When I'm really lucky, he takes me to the dog park where I get to play with lots of dogs. Sometimes there's another boxer there and we really get it on! He's my age and plays the boxer games just like my sister Allie did. Last night I jumped up in foster dad's bed and slept with him. When he woke up he didn't get mad, he's learning real good too! 9/6/09 Dougie has been here a week and been a perfect gentlemen. His manners are impeccable and he is very obientient. Walks wonderfully on leash. He is crated trained but has earned the privelage to be left in the house alone. Dougie loves to play and then snuggle with you on the couch or at your feet. This boy fit right into my schedule from the first day and never skipped a beat. He would love to stay with his sister, but would do fine alone. Both Dougie and Allie came from a very loving home, but due to changing circumstances they needed to find a good home for the pair. = 8/31/09 - This DOG is just great! Attitude, Stature, Disposition, are all a “10”. I sure you will think I’m biased, but I ran into a professional dog trainer who said he had all the prerequisites of a great dog. And to top it off he’s lots of fun and just a real loveable guy. He gets along great with every dog he has had contact with and plays well with all the dogs in the dog park. He really adores his sister as you will be able to tell when I send you their photos. |
