UPDATE 8/7/10 - My apologies, my one year update is a little late. Alli is sitting here with me, making sure I only write good things about her, which is easy to do! She is doing great, has had lots of fun this summer playing in the pool at the dog run and hanging with her best bud Harlow. People in the street stop and say what a beauty she is, I am a very proud mommy. She has grown into a fine girl. She is very tall and close to 60 pounds, she prances around like a horse and jumps like on too! We are going to take a trip up to to mountains soon, o I am very excited to watch her run and swim! I love her so much and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. Thanks SCBR!

UPDATE 1/6/10 - Apologies, I am a little late on my 6 month update. Alli is doing very well still. She turned 1 year old on 12/10/09 and we had a little party at the dog run with her best friend Harlow (7 month Vischla). Alli got to experience gher first snow when we were hit in NY with that big storm. She was nervous at first bbut then realized it was fun to eat and she was off and running. We went to the dog park and she did allot of digging and playing, needless to say she is a fan of snow! She has some very fashinable sweaters and a nice shearling coat because she does get cold and some nice booties for the salted streets. She looks so adorable! She is calming down with the cats some, which is nice for them. She also had lots of fun when Bear was staying with us in November, I think she really enjoyed a doggie friend in the house (too bad it is too small for two of them!). As always, I have to say thank you to those that rescued her and fostered her, she is such a wonderful dog and I l  ove her madly!

UPDATE 9/30/09 - Alli is doing really well. Her mange has cleared up completely and she is up to date on shots now, after finding out she had never been vaccinated. Oops! She has been on a fewweekend trips to jersey and the Catskills and she loves it. She is a curious girl, loves to explore and really enjoys running in tall grass. She is up to 51 lbs now. She is a complete mush, who loves to get her belly rubbed and so smart! We continue to work on her cat relations (she wants to play with them as if they are dogs)and jumping up on people. I am convinced she thinks she is a lap dog.

UPDATE 8/21/09 - Alli continues to be a total joy. She finished her obedience class and I am considering taking her to the level II class. Her mange continues to be a problem so she is continuing on medication until it is all gone. She is starting to enjoy fetch at the dog run and has made many buddies, including a beautiful 1 year male boxer named Leo. Watching the two of them together is making me consider adopting a second boxer, but Alli is a handful all by herself. She has so much energy, she can jump 3 feet straight up and keeps scaling the child gates I put up to give the cats a little breathing room. I get such pleasure from her!

UPDATE 7/14/09 - Alli has adjusted very quickly to city life. She is very popular at the dog run and has taken to leaping into the kiddie pool there. It is the most adorable thing. She is quite the beauty when she gets running.
The cats are getting used to her slowly, they are very unsure about her. She just wants to play with them like they are puppies, so we have to supervise carefully, but I feel very confident they will eventually all get used to eachother.
Alli is doing very well in obedience class. She walks really well on leash with the occasional lunges to chase pidgeons or greet other dogs (we are working on that...)
She want to New Jersey for the 4th of July and played with her cousin, Birdie, who is a female Brussels Griffon. They were absolutely adorable together and played with a bully chew stick for hours.
She has been to the vet twice, once to introduce her, when we found out she has demodectic(sp?) mange (the non-contangious one)and a slight ear infection. We just finished treating the mange this week so she will be going back to the vet on Friday to have it looked at. We had to go in again when she developed pink eye (right after the ear infection was done), but now that is all cleared up.
She is an absolute joy to me and I feel so much that she was meant to be mine.
Thank you!!

6/13/09 - This little girl is all healed and off with her new forever family!

5/27/09
- Alli went to the vet to see how she is healing.  Not only does her leg look fantastic, we've managed to put 10 lbs. on her skinny little frame!  She sees the vet again on 5/28/09 to get her Nip-N-Tuck (Spay).  After that, this lucky little girl will be ready for her 4evah home! She is such a little sweet pea that I'm sure it won't be long until she is snatched up.  Her injury having kept her in the crate so much, she has really become a patient and well trained doggie.  She is so happy that she is now allowed to romp outside with the big dogs!  She has brought out the "Father" in our big boy Diesel who loves to allow her to "tackle" him on the lawn; and yet she is a such a snuggle bunny.  She also puts a wiggle in her grove that would do any Boxer mom proud!  We have enjoyed every minute if this tiny girl and hope she gets a home with all the love she deserves.  Here are a few pics of her getting an ice down with Diesel watching over, Alli,
Close up,
and playing in the yard.

4/29/09 - Alli, or as we like to call her, Little Miracle has settled in very well to her foster home. She isn't very happy about spending all of her time in her crate, but we must get that leg to heal! Her manners are perfect and she is a VERY sweet girl who has already stolen all of our hearts! She is affectionate and smart and seems to understand her dilemma and why she cannot go romp and play yet. She is crate trained and will sit for her meals and treats. She is a great eater which is very good considering she puts the "skin" in SKINNY! We are hoping to put a few pounds on her and continue to do her physical therapy every day. After what this little peanut has been through, she gets our vote for Dog of the YEAR!

4/23/09 - I saw Miss Allie at the doctor's office today. The cast was only on for a week or so and she's up and around... and wiggles and squirms wanting to be pet and play. She's going to need some physical therapy and be kept quiet for awhile while she's finishing healing, but she's just about ready to be discharged from the hospital to a foster home. Way to go, little girl!!!

4/10/09 - Alli came to us yesterday one broken little puppy. She was hit by a car and had a very badly fractured leg. Dr. Horgan operated on her yesterday and actually lost her on the table. But this little fighter bounced right back and came through the surgery just fine! She'll be staying at the vet's office for intensive care while her wounds heal. Poor little girl...
NOTE ** Because I am still a baby, I will only be placed in a home where someone is home often, such as retired, work at home, work opposite shifts, stay at home parents, etc
