| UPDATE 2/7/10 - Abby just recently completed her obedience training! She is like a new puppy altogether. She has also been attending doggie day care once a week. She loves playing with her doggie friends and comes home so tired, she doesn't get up for the couch until the next morning!!
Tucker and Abby are still best friends. They have their "boxer arguments" where they lay on the floor facing each other and make funny noises and mouth each other. We love Abby so much! Thanks again, SCBR! You guys are the best! UPDATE 11/13/09 - Abby has made herself right at home in Lynnfield! She's very bold and it's funny to watch her push around our mellow, 100lb boxer. She'll steal his toys in an effort to get him to play with her. They're just like little kids. The two of them wrestle all the time and even sleep together on the couch. Abby was a princess for Halloween. She loved her costume so much! (She probably didn't, but we would like to think she did.) She's still very much a young dog though and likes to chew on some things that she shouldn't. But we're working on it! Abby starts training classes in less than a week, so we're looking forward to that. She's much more portable than our other boxer Tucker. We can easily more her from one side of the couch to the other while she's napping and she'll just keep snoring away! We even pick her up like a little kid and walk around the house with her. We can't imagine life without our new addition. She's just awesome! 10/15/09 - Abby has been adopted! 10/15/09 - Abby is such a special boxer. She is very friendly, healthy, and beautiful. All she is looking for is someone who has the time to spend with her because she is still a pup and full of energy. I believe she is one of the smartest dogs I have ever met. Willing, ready, and able to learn whatever you want her to know! I have her sit when it is time to go out the door to get her leash on. She knows all the tricks- just like that. Abby spent a great deal of time in her kennel before and she prefers to be out of it but will go in willingly for a treat. Abby gets along great with other dogs, but I think she would be better in a home without cats. Not that she would mean to hurt one, but she plays a bit rough for the kitty, so mine stays upstairs by herself. Another dog in the home would be awesome. She would love to be in a home with children also! She's great with kids! Once Abby is trained in obedience, she will be the MOST awesome dog. I think she just had some confusion going on about where she belongs and needs her forever home to find her. 9/17/09 - Abby is a very sweet little girl and learns at a very fast pace! When we first got her she was not very trusting but was immediatly playful. After a few days she was a little more settled and now she's fine. When she first goes in the crate at night she barks but now she usually settles down within a 1/2 hour. She likes our dog, playing with her toys, eating and sometimes just hanging out in the chair next to the computer, as long as I'm there. Abby eats all the food put in front of her so she needs to be given only 4 cups a day. She is VERY high energy which means she needs a family who will be able to walk her often because she really enjoys it. We're still not really sure on cats. Abby hasn't really harmed our cats but I don't think she had them in her house, so she really wants to play with them like she would another dog but they're not and they get confused and run away...leading Abby to chasing them. She still has a lot of puppy in her!!! |
